Title: Jetwashing advice please!!!
Post by: Temple cleaning services on March 01, 2021, 05:55:11 pm
Hi guys can anyone recommend a good 20inch flat surface cleaner? Also I’ve got a jet Mac systems 3600psi jet wash and I had a north star flat surface cleaner, even on full power it was leaving circular marks and not cleaning very well so I sold it. Is it the jet wash that isn’t powerful enough or do I need a better surface cleaner? Thanks in advance

PSI is not the be all and end all to pressure washing - what is your litres per minute - at 3600 it needs to be 21 LPM at least you most likely have to much pressure and not enough flow - and a good chance you didn't have the correct nozzles in the FSC

I use a cheap fibreglass FSC with my 3000 PSI machines without any problems ( I only use them on lightly discoloured concrete and tarmac ( moss removal ) IMO they are pretty useless for deep cleaning - my goto option is a turbo nozzle

As darran has said, psi is pretty much irrelevant over 3000 psi, but LPM is massively important for cleaning power.

I got terry from jetmac to sort me a 23lpm machine, by using a belt with less teeth than running the pump at 21lpm. I’ve also got a 20 inch FSC from him, it’s a great bit of kit.

I’ve had a few machines over the years, usually 21lpm but the extra 2lpm works wonders for an FSC. They are pretty useless for deep cleans and getting moss out of block paving though. That’s where the turbo nozzle is needed.

Find out what LPM your machine is, then think about which jets will work in an FSC based on your machine 👍🏼

Ime surprised we find the fsc removes all the moss on block paving really well especially in the bevels on the edges , we have a 21-23 ltr per muinit machine very rarely ever use the turbo nozzle.

It does remove it if you go reasonably slow, but the turbo rips it out very quickly.

It also depend how stubborn it is, if it’s not too bad the FSC is fine, but stubborn stuff I get the twin turbo nozzles out and run the machine around 18lpm, otherwise It’s like wrestling a bull!

I follow Kirk nor cross on Instagram (only way is Essex) he’s really good at what he does and has some great equipment and pictures. His flat surface always looks like it rips through everything? Sometimes I’m doing huge driveways with the turbo and thinking there’s surely got to be a better way than this. My jet wash is definitely 20ltr/per min at least. Do you guys run off a waterbutt/wheely bin? Thanks for your reply’s!!

We use a wheely bin , 20 ltr per muinit  to a fsc jetted to you machine should work well ours does and makes less mess to .
