mines in a polystyrene box with a small tube heater with the thermostat set low

Space heater or oil filled rad on a thermostat.

It might not help you but you must have a seriously flimsy garage door I’ve just had a new insulated automated door fitted,it closes down onto a rubber seal you shouldn’t be getting anything freezing up inside your garage tbh.

Hello dazzler. Go to Wilkinson's get a cheap bbq cover. And the thickest tog duvet. Put them over it sorted.

That won’t be enough on the coldest nights. Not worth risking your membrane etc. Get yourself a heater with a stat. Harder to keep the heat in if your garage is a prefab. My garage is integral, has a cavity wall & slightly insulated door so hasn’t been a problem for my static. My old house had a prefab, uninsulated, and my ibc froze in that cold winter back in 2010.

Good point Simon, integral garage should be absolutely fine, more chance of freezing occurring if it’s a detached garage.

It gets cold in our garage but doesn’t get anywhere near to the point where anything would freeze up.
