Title: New recProtek
Post by: Spotfree on January 19, 2021, 04:42:05 pm
Whos been using them?

I've had mine for a week now and it's been great not having snags.

I usually change my rectus fittings once each month but I reckon its gonna last considerably longer now.

Why hasn't anyone thought of this before...

£18:00 :o. Think I’ll just continue to change the rectus fittings twice a year at most.

Yeah,a bit overpriced,I stop using the slick connect as its similar as it was forever catching on bins and car wheels, went back to using rectus 21 fittings but with a tap and holster.
Stick em up  ;D ;D ;D

Looks quite good if a little pricey - how much bigger do they make the fitting?

I have to say the pneumatic connectors work surprising well and do go inside the pole

If you are hoseless how do you stop the water with them ?

Yes hoseless  - univalve inside pole

At the end of the when they disconnect we simply put a blank on the reel hose

What do you think the longevity will be like on them?

I use rectus 26...I find these last a lot longer than the 21s.....I only change them once a year and they get dragged around and battered every day!

Ah I see , I don’t use any more than 2 rectus  a year so it’s not really a big problem for me

Are the 26 any bigger than 21 Daz , I’ve never seen one with my own eyes

I'm with Daz, rectus 26 all the way, they last ages. P@F, yes mate bigger, heavier and more expensive but worth the investment

But do they go up inside the pole as far as the top of section 2 on an SLX and Xtreme ?

If they last Dazimal a year then one should do me to retirement  ;D

I made the change because I wanted hoseless, if nothing else just to stop sh!t loads of pole hose being coiled up on the racking (8 poles) but the exceed hoseless  doesn't work with ova8 so I had my (h-man moment) idea to use pneumatic connectors

On average I was replacing 3 quick release couplings per month over 7 reels then 1  or 2 on the other  dozen assorted items like back packs......

In 4 months we have replaced 2 connectors (@95p each) - personally I find them a little more fiddly to connect than rectus but I brought a little tool that helps - having said that I seen guys take 5 minutes trying to connect a rectus fitting 🤣

We rarely disconnect more than once during the day so it works for me and I no longer bulk buy rectus fittings 😁

So surely a 26 will go into section 2 !

Nah looks like section 2 has an ID of about 22mm

I think slx sections are something like  19mm - 22mm - 25mm - 28mm

So section 4 at best if you don't use a bung/hose butt cap thingy

Sort of defeats the objective of hoseless with a 26 and an SLX 18 then  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Used mine today, I was a little loathed to spend £18 on one, but thought I would try it and have to say I’m impressed with it.

I have exceed tubeless setup but hate the barb connector and o clips catching on things, I tried the exceed slick connect but broke them.

This rekprotek thing is very good seems a
Hard wearing and catches a lot less then the barb connector and keeps the rectus clean and stops it disconnecting on the floor.

Cant say ive ever had much problems with the 21s

I might go through a couple a year, maybe

But then again i rarely disconnect as i use my 25ft pole for pretty much everything

Mine arrived today looks good but very very expensive for what it is 🤣🤣 good on em they are obviously selling,it’ll do a better job than the balls do although they also work.

Yes I agree they are quite good  and will fit through the Grippatank rollers as well 😂😂(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1611605226_97044667-8EC9-4128-B3AB-5FC8951F6910.jpeg)

I’m thinking it will work well although every job I’ll have to disconnect for heater back to tank be interesting to see if it lasts being un screwed a lot.

Has every one stopped using the slick connect then i realy like them compared to the metal ones !

This is plastic and better being soft no chance of it cracking at all and it has a long thread so it won’t keep coming loose.
