I’ve been working through all tier lockdowns but not carrying out any internal work once we were in tier 4. What’s everyone’s thoughts on continuing to work if we are placed back into full lockdown. It’s a bit of a grey area as none of us can work from home. (Pole won’t reach haha)
-
If we go into lockdown again the same will apply to me as it did in March-April I’ll just continue outside,I did insides before but when they are larger places they can move from 1 end of the property to the other when needed.
They won’t stop builders or other self employed working no way they won’t want to be dishing out anymore money after the 31st of January when the 3rd grant ends.

There was supposed to be a fourth grant in March / April at the same 80% as the third.
That was the UK.Gov site about a month ago.
I'll be carrying on too.
-
We will continue unless their is something specific against external cleaning being allowed
Currently our internal cleaning is on hold

We will find out tonight at 8 I can’t see them stopping us working outside maybe they will this time but I can’t see it,I think it will be mainly to do with schools and closing all non essential shops again.
I’m still having building work done on my house and I want that finishing before everything locks down again.
-
of course ill be working as usual........
first day back for me today and it was nice to get back out there after 12 days of doing very little and eating too much xmas food! ;D
-
It looks like my Christmas break will be extended; temporarily, at least.
I've hardly thought about returning to work because I've always thought that this would happen.
I was born to shirk ;D. Stay safe, workers ;).
-
Here in Scotland we are allowed to go to work if we can’t work from home. I haven’t been doing any inside work since the last lockdown, which suits me just fine!
Schools will be closed to pupils until February but will be open for the children of key workers and vulnerable children.

Double negative right there😁

Yep, it’s no issue at all, we work outside, no drama.
Unless there is a ban on leaving the house, we can still work the same as March/April/May
-
I will continue to work as i did in the March lockdown, insides as well on big houses.

There is no way there will be a ban on going to work if you simply cannot work from home....if you work alone and away from other people.....
We have got it made......👍🙂
This job is recession proof AND lockdown proof....happy days.....😎

I will happily stay at home if there is a ban on leaving the house, grant claimed feet up until spring👍 8)

I will be working as normal have done throughout this pandemic.

It is, Daz; especially with the homeschooling. I'd sooner be working and him in school though.
I've already done two weeks isolation in December and I'm sick of it.
I'd have considered going today had it not been for the snow but I also suspected that the schools wouldn't reopen this week.
-
No grants , payments or help of any sort so
I’ll be donning my warmest winter hat and ploughing on
-
Carrying on the best I can . Kids will be still going to school as the wife is a key worker and I’ll be getting through all my work that isn’t on hold.
Why can’t your kid go to school as a key workers child Griff? Isn’t your Mrs a nurse?
-
Our school will only take kids if BOTH parents are key workers

I think most schools were like that early on, but soon changed to just one parent being a key worker. Both my kids schools certainly did anyway.
-
Both parents have to be key workers here.

He might be able to go in, Danny; he's also classed as vulnerable, I think.
That's why I said 'temporarily' but there's nothing in place yet. We had a message today saying they were opening on Wednesday and now we are going to hear from Boris. He'll probably go in if he can on the days that his Mum is working but once again it's all last minute. Luckily his Mum only starts work on Friday, this week, but I only need to lose another a week or two to be significantly affected after already losing two weeks in December.

I’d take the opportunity this week to get out there and get through some work whilst you can mate.
Not wanting to open another discussion on the grants etc but stop overthinking it, you qualify regardless at this point. Get it claimed and get your work done the best you can.
-
It won’t affect us they’ve already said it will more than likely be the same as March.
-
Looking forward to no traffic again 🤣

That should be a good laugh😁
-
We just pull a buff over our faces when we're going in and out of our customers houses. This way they can't identify which one of us was skipping their windows 8)

Tradespeople are allowed to continue with internal work this time around. Whether you want to is another matter though.
-
I'll be working through but won't be going inside of anyone's houses this time.
We were notified late last night of my partner's estranged father having passed by two police officers knocking the door. I had to let them in. No PPE or any discussion regarding protocol or a social distance. I fully understand that masks could be a barrier to communicating bad news but still found it quite concerning considering lockdown having been announced only hours before.

My next door neighbour was found dead last year during the first lockdown...there was police everywhere(he was a well known drug dealer)....
NO masks
NO social distancing
I wouldn't get too near some of my neighbours pre covid nevermind during these times!

It's a good excuse to get rid of any internal work if you hate going inside customers houses....👍🙂

I only do a couple of big country house type places inside. I’d lose the job by giving up the insides on these and anyway I enjoy doing them.
Sod doing any internals on smaller 3/4/5 bed stuff.
Edit: have just read that back and realised I sound like NWH, apologies. 😂
-
I wasn't going in houses on first lockdown but this one I will. Some of my customers haven't had there insides cleaned since march. Some I haven't seen since march.
9 have done runners. Not seen even by there neighbor s. Just removal wagons turned up one day there a few more to come before the end of this

Yeah, just like you, I have a large full days in and out job that I'll continue. It's spacious and open plan, they usually go out for the day and I see myself out. Declining all the smaller terraced jobs where I have to go through their houses to clean back windows at an appointed time is something I've wanted to do for a while anyhow.

Like the first lockdown the quicker you go round and show your face the better people can smell anxiety or if you think should I be here,we are allowed to carry on try and give that off in attitude when you turn up 👍

I think Daz takes it in his stride. He's an open book and leaves himself wide open to some micky taking but it doesn't bother him. He knows all this when he posts but it doesn't deter him.
Not much on here seems to bother him and it's a good quality that he has.
He doesn't have many, mind ;D.
