Title: Condensation In Van..Help..??
Post by: Dazzler3370 on January 03, 2021, 03:25:14 pm
Gents,

I am struggling with condensation on my windscreen, I have a 3kw heater in my 500ltr tank which I think is the main cause of this. I have a seperate cab but my windscreen is dripping in the morning.
I have tried leaving windows open an inch, Silica Gel.
I have had my whole floor stripped out over Christmas to make sure there is no moisture in my cab anywhere.

My next idea would be to fit 2 roof vents one in the back and one in the cab. Has anybody had any success with this.
Or has anyone been able to fix this with any other ideas.

Cheers

Whenever I am parked up on my  drive and weather isn't raining I try to remember to leave back doors open for an hour or so.......obviously not when it's dark......don't have a problem really condensation wise.

Caravan owners  leave big bowls of salt around during the closed season , might be worth a go

Are you sure you have no leaks?
Not just on your system, roof rack fixings? Windscreen? etc?

Although I think condensation is just an inevitable thing with a window cleaning van.

Yeah that level of condensation is usually excessive water somewhere inside I remember years ago I had a faulty matrix that was leaking,it caused so much condensation everything was almost wet in the mornings.

i just use my squeegee on my inside windscreen first thing in the morning  if its wet......its hardly a major problem......within 15 mins my van cab is warm and dry and ready for work........it just depends what the weather and the ambient air temperature is...some mornings its fine..others its wet through........
