does anyone use a citroen dispatch 16TDI van for work, if so any issues , 16 or 2.0 ltr , there wont be much difference in engine if using for local work around town, 500ltr tank, 2 reels , just gives a bigger choice to pick. i cant believe vans with over 100,000 miles still wanting top wack for them , compared to some lower mileage vans around 40,000+

We have Dispatch, its a 1200 KG payload 2.0l version, 65 reg, had it three years bought it with 125K on it, 152K on now as our working mileage is not high, been fairly reliable, has a 800L tank in it and a full Two man system in, Goes well and although not the most solidly built, continues to lock and all door handles working and will be keeping it on for the foreseable,
Vans prices are one of the victims of Covid as they have been in short supply and firms that usually move them into the market have had to keep them on as they couldn't replace so expect fewer bargain vans about until Covids sorted. ::)roll

I'm not going to pretend I know alot about vehicles etc but the garage that looks after my vehicles told me always go for the 2.litre not the 1.6 with the dispatch.

Agree. Stay away from the 1.6, they can have turbo issues amongst other problems.

I'm on my 2nd 1.6. Had no issues with either in over 6 years. I took the opportunity to blank the egr off on the first van when it needed a new one but never had any engine or turbo issues. The first van I only lost £1750 on it in 5 years!😲

Just looked on a French vehicle forum and the problems with the 1.6 largely seem to be with earlier models. I have owned a 2.0hdi dispatch from new, which is now 15 years old and been very good.

most recomended are 2.0 ltr engines, short journeys, stop starting, weight in van ,
which would be the best renault van to look out for , model. im looking around £5000+ for a decent upgrade.
Ford model also seems some in this price bracket.

If your budget is £5000 I would avoid Ford as it will be slim pickings on that budget. You will get more choice and something newer with lower mileage if you look at Renault, Citroen, Peugeot, Vauxhall, Fiat etc.
