Title: Petrol ⛽️ Vans
Post by: lee_dewing on December 31, 2020, 11:58:31 am
Another van thread sorry 😣

Anyone have a petrol van?

Probably windies living in and around ULEZ

Looking at 1.2 petrol citoreon berlingo

I know arguments are not enough torque to shift weight etc

I only do  six thousand miles a year!
Hardly ever go on motorways

Never for work anyway

Thanks

I still wouldn’t buy such an underpowered van you’ll wish you hadn’t,if you only do that kind of mileage it doesn’t really matter the size of the engine.

I had a demo Berlingo petrol  new 1.2 for the weekend.
the power wasn't to bad, the big problem for me was gear change  jerking it was terrible not smooth at all .
i went with a new 1.5 100  blue diesel  driver fantastic van the best i have ever had, around town i am getting 50mpg and all the tec is blowing my mind!
better then my car!!

Thanks Gaza

If not going petrol,
That’s the diesel version I had my eye on
Citroen berlingo 1.5 glad you’re happy with

It has the 3 seats in the cab (or 2 and a half 😁)

My daughter is a whippet

We have a small family car but the 3 seater van would be handy for the Norfolk coast summer break

Me Mrs daughter in front and dog 🐶 in back

More importantly a good work van

I currently have Fiat doblo 1.3 diesel turbo
Multi jet 90
It’s pretty nippy for 1.3 👍

I like the 1.4 tsi vw caddy
But expensive and not the roomiest van
For wfp 🤔

I went for the 1tone payload I have a 450 tank in the back electric reel all the tools , it pulls very well but the brilliant thing is the mpg 60 on long journeys !
I also went for the driver it is the top of the range 1.5 100 blue euro  6.2 engine in gray
Very very nice van

Watched a couple of videos on the run down and abandoned Pontins at Hemsby I have great memories of that place, used to go there in the early and mid 80s for the Snooker tournament in August.
Used to walk out of there turn right and take a short  walk down to the beach, great place it was then.

we have a mk7 350 transit , think its a 2.3 in the front runs on gas , its got 167k on the clock and its worked out to be more reliable then the 2.4 diesels we had running along side on it , good van cheap to run when on gas

Lee - Martham - which is about 2 miles from Hemsby and Winterton - so I expect a call when your here so we can have a drink !

winterton is great for walking the dog on the dunes but the cafe has now departed into the sea !!!

Pontins has now gone - it will be a big housing estate

Yeah they said it was going to be a houseing estate such a shame though always the same when you think of going somewhere years later just to have a look it’s gone or going, great memories for a lot of people best days growing up in the 70s and 80s just enough technology but not too much like it is today just got a snippet of how it used to be.

I tell you when I watched a video of a couple walking around it abandoned and smashed to pieces it almost brought a tear to my eye m8,I’ve got a picture looking at me of my Dad sitting outside on the grass as you would drive in on the left outside the chalet we were in.
Great place Hemsby was haven’t a clue what it’s like now we were actually going to go and stay up there for a couple of days later this year all being well for a bit of a reminisce, went up and stayed at that place a few times in the 80s my old Dad always liked to drive past Norwich football ground on the way even if they were at home lol.
