Title: Canvassing
Post by: James Styles on November 11, 2020, 11:18:02 pm
Is it ok to canvass at the moment?
I really need to build on my round, would it be best to wear a face mask or just stand back?
As we are currently in lockdown am I legally allowed to canvass or is it best to hold of for a bit?
My rounds got so many messers, need to build.

Yeh crack on canvassing . But keep away from the new builds . I went for a nosey round a new Barrett estate near Wakefield. Only reason is one of my customers has moved there . So I knocked either side of her house . One guy answered , said he moved in about a month ago . He showed me 21 window cleaning flyers and business cards . Price range for a 4 bed detached £4.50 to £25 . I have informed my custy I wont be cleaning her windows . I only do compact and I am not competing with that lot .

Sounds like a site near me. Customer shown me a leaflet that was giving the first 3 cleans for free then £6 per clean after that (3 bed semi). Good luck with that.

Stupid idea , underpricing a job in hope of getting a walk up from it. So for the next year you hate doing the job because you’ve underpriced it and you don’t get any walk ups!

There are hundreds of new builds going up in wakefield next few months near pinderfields. The area is huge but i had a little dabble knocking about a year ago and got the same that i was about the 4th window cleaner to knock and these estates arent even half built yet..

Plus they are not really my bag, as with most new build estates they are extremely crammed in, a lot of town houses with no rear access and no where to park.
