i was cleaning a large bungalow in the middle of nowhere today and it hadn't been cleaned in 4 years so was pretty grubby..I had the sun shining on the windows too just to make matters worse!!
the problem was though, I couldnt get the b**tards clean enough! just kept getting the little lines that come off the end of my squeegie and when I tried to polish them out with my scrim f**k me the scrim was leaving a hazy mess on the window making the whole thing even worse. I explained my way out of it to the lady of the house and luckily she was just pleased to be able to see out of em again >phew<
Can anyone give me advise on this? why does it happen? is it just because of the amount of dirt there was and the sun or what?
please help!!

Clean using a new squeegee rubber detail the edges before and dont touch again with the scrim, also lots of water.

Yep, that's what I do.
Might have to do it twice too.

I agree with Roy and Squeaky,
also every time you use your squeegee, flick the surplus water off your blade, and wipe the end thats going to go on the clean squeegeed glass, this way you will eliminate any lines from your squeegee.

I've had the same problem with very dirty windows in hot weather, and in one case I went back first thing next morning and gave them another clean when they were cool.
One time I was stupid enough to agree to clean the inside as well on a big lounge window that the sun had been shining on all afternoon. I'll know better next time!

Make sure your water is clean.Splat some water on filthy windows first then give a good wipe with an old towel then use plenty of water.try using GG4 or 3 doesn't dry as quick as fairy.Trust me this will work I work on east coast so windows are often covered in salt like you wouldn't believe .Theres nothing worse than salt!!!

yup, I did actually clean some of the inside windows (she chose a few she wanted done) it was a nightmare :)

If I do a place that hasn't been done for a while I get a large'ish bit of wire wool and just go over the glass quickly with that after moping the glass.
It works everytime and the windows come up spotless.
In my experience you get those lines when there is still dirt, film, ect, on the glass.

I've found that if you are goind to wipe the lines away with a scrim, make sure it's a well washed one. The newer ones will always leave the little cloud marks on the window. You might still get a little bit of a blurry spot on the window but it's hardly noticable.

get an beer towel or golfing one and wipe over the window and the edges make sure you get right around it then soap up and blade making sure the blade is new and ur scrim is clean.
And charge more for the first clean as doing it this way takes alot longer and if u do it this way first it may take an exter 30mins for example but it will be a first class job and much better for your next clean!!
