This is the second time in two weeks that I’ve had to clear my strainer. The first time I noticed I wasn’t getting much flow of water even if I cranked it up to 99. I worked my way back and eventually found that the strainer was full of this yellow stuff. Fast forward to today and the same thing happened. I took a photo this time. What do you reckon it is? I’ve noticed little bits of yellow stuff floating about in my tank but I just can’t think where it’s come from?

Never seen that before, looks like algae? maybe your tank needs emptying and a good cleaning out. Is there sunlight getting to your tank?

Looks like green algae to me...

It’s green algi your tank needs sterilising and flushing out several times to get rid of it .

I think you should be more worried about your eyesight if you think that's yellow :D

Ha! Sussed it. I use one of those bags for life to cover my tank lid and it looks like the Mrs has left an old post it note in the bag and it fell in the tank ;D

I’ll let you know. I fished a load of it out of the tank with a cheap fishing net.
