I got a 2400 ro system from pure freedom the other month, the person on the phone said i didn't need a booster pump at the time so i never bothered, thing is my pressure is awful and has got worse. 10psi
So I now need a booster and pure freedom seem to not like replying to emails ive sent asking which one to get. Can any of you advise a good one to buy please and also where in the system it actually goes.
Thanks

Many recommend the clarkes pump from machine mart. I have a 4040 membrane and chose to go with a similar booster pump to the one PF sell. Its a rotary vane pump and rated for continual use ( unlike some of the other cheaper ones ). I bought mine from the cleaning warehouse. Its the water genie that comes fitted in a box. Its an easy plug in and forget . I've fitted mine between pre filters and ro. I've run it 2 years with no issues. Takes my pressure from 30 to 100 psi but I found tweaking the waste gate valve to 80 psi was the sweet spot for me that gave the lowest tds.

You say you run the pump between pre filters and ro.
Why is this?
I have mine before pre filters.
Thought that was the way to do it 🤔

Doesn't really make any difference, I don't think there's a wrong or a right. I was merely answering the OP. I suppose my thinking was the sediment filter before the pump would protect the pump from sediment although I doubt it would do a pump that much harm. Likewise the pre filters don't require boosted pressure to work.

If you do a search there are many posts, some recent on this very topic.
If your system is on a float switch and solenoid valve then I would look at a pump that incorporates an electronic cut off switch that will cut the booster pump once the flow of water through the r/o stops.
Xline sell a booster pump with this provision as do Machine Mart with their CBM240E

Unfortunately Machine Mart have gained the reputation of being rather expensive these days and the identical pump can be bought cheaper elsewhere.

Its a good bit of kit. I was dubious at first as its quite pricey. But did my research, wanted something that was easy to plug and play and reliably deliver what it promised to. Wasn't disappointed.

Pump arrived today, took it out of the box and mounted it to my ro frame instead in the garage, had a little play with the adjustment screw as it was making a lot of noise vibrating, got it up to 50 psi now and making water nice and fast.
Thanks for the advice
