Title: Is it my pump, battery or varistream? Help!
Post by: Morph on July 11, 2006, 06:02:17 pm
For about a week now I've had to set my varistream dial up higher than usual.
I've had it set at 11. o clock for the past 9 months which suits me fine.
Now I have to turn it up to about 2 or 3. o clock to get the same flow.
I've had the battery on charge over the weekend to see if I was letting it get too low...No, that is fine, well topped up.
When I turn the varistream up full I get maximum flow as usual, but the setting to get the flow I want seems to have changed..
Anyone else experienced this?

Pj. Have you checked your filters going into your pump. Had the same prob a while ago, checked mine & they were bad.

Thanks Macc

The pump is pushing the water through fine when I turn the varistream up full.  Its the level I have to set it at to get a good flow that has changed.

I didn't know the pump had any filters going into it?

Unless you mean my water filter system, that isn't in my van.

I dont think he means that filter!

Think he means the little mesh filter you should have just before the water goes through the pump. It's in a clear plastic thing about the size of a golf ball. Not sure on the exact name of it?

sounds to me like a air leak, it only needs to be fine

either

on the incoming hose (this is normally tha case, as it sucks air in) if its the out-going line, you will see a water leak

Well, the filter needed a cleanup, but not that bad.
Checked for air leak, no obvious sign, but I think I'll change connectors anyway.
Thanks guys.  Helpful as always.

I found out since it didnt take much to start slowing the flow so i do mine weekly now.

Can you get an air lock in the di bottle, give it a shake.

Thanks again Macc

I don't carry a di in the van.  I just have the tank of pure, and pump it straight out to my pole.
I don't know what it is.  Try again tomorrow.

This might be worth a try.

Your varisteam may need recalibrating.

To do this undo the front and inside you will see a small blue dial. It will be set against a letter.  Move the dial up one letter then try it (you can leave the front undone or this) This should increase the pump pressure. Dont be tempted to move it up more than one letter at a time. Just move it one letter at a time until it's back to normal.

Hope this helps

Andrew
