hi guys, been using ionics kit since i started out three years ago, i think my carbon filter needs a change and was wondering what you would recommend, it's a 4040 system I have consisting of a carbon filter, water sotener then ro. I don't do mega litres each week, but I don't want something that needs attention every couiple of months, the IONICS kit has lasted me all this time with no attention. cheers, richard

I have to replace a carbon block filter every 3 or 4 months to ensure my r/o membrane is protected against chlorine.
We have 20" prefilters and I always recommend Fibersdyne as they have served us well. With a 20" prefilter the serve life is 75600 liters which includes waste and pure.
I would certainly be checking the performance of your membrane to ensure that chlorine hasn't damaged it. You need to input tds from the tap compared to the pure output of the membrane before di.

thanks , yes the tds has been creeping up ahead to the resin plus it's reaching it's service life of 100,000 litres. many thanks
