I nipped to toolstation this afternoon and picked up the correct size bullet connectors(2.5mm) so I'm sorted for a few years now.... ;D
I've got a few spare inline fuse holders too.......the protective covers seem to snap together better on these new ones....
I think my fuse problem stemed from me getting a bit of water inside the holder because I'd left the protective cap loose.....
Anyway you live and learn......and I've certainly learned something today.......I'm well happy with myself for fixing the problem(I'm not very technically minded)..... :)
Are you gonna swap out your fuse holder too richy?at least yours isn't melted but it looks a bit dirty...... ;D
All in all a productive day despite the awful weather! 8)
-
Take a picture of what you’ve done Daz if you can please.
-
all ive done is swap out the 20amp inline fuse holder thats wired in for the heater for a new one and put a new fuse in it......luckily oliver has made it easy to swap these out with bullet connectors on either side of the holders so an easy fix(as long as you have the correct fuse holders and connectors!)....sounds like you ve got spade connectors on yours nigel.....
have you had a look at your 20amp fuse holder/fuse for signs of damage, dirty connection, etc?

-
I need to take some better pictures of the fuse side really it’s a 9kw 2 man.

Not bad eye sight your original photos didn’t show two heat exchangers , yours is laid out differently to mine
-
Yeah mines bolted to the tank frame which was ideal tbh, when I change vans I’ll probably get one of there complete systems with heater more than likely sell the van with everything in it.
-
Yeah sorry first pics didn’t have them both showing I was only joking with you,Daz only has 1 exchanger the pikey boy

You’ve not chosen to get an electric reel yet I see,any reason I find it invaluable now combined with hot and a feather light pole.
-
That heater is similar to mine splash n dash....one heat exchanger like yours...its a 9kw( webasto thermo pro 90)

It’s two heat exchangers ,
-
Splash has the same as me 2 heat exchangers did you opt for 1 exchanger
-
It’s a 9 kw two man (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1592989001_B73DCFA1-59E6-4D75-AD4C-F880036AE702.jpeg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1592989000_6DF8BD16-A7F5-4058-9AE8-A62C07041BA0.jpeg)

Yes got two electric reels I had the hd like yours but just changed them for the 3D (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1592995803_73C04928-BD16-4AD5-8980-AD7BAE5E2857.jpeg)

What do you think of the new one I don’t think they look anywhere near as robust, does it reel in at similar speed to the HD
-

That are slower re wind and the anti snag is weaker it won’t pull hose round corners like the hd does , I have phoned Jordan and he is sending me different motors to try he thinks that will solve the problem, I have 6 of theses reels on 3 vans and I and staff like them , I have had the hd, pure freedom and prefer theses , the outer is plastic but it’s a lot stronger than it looks , time will tell how they hold up , if there is any snags with them we will soon find it as they are reeling in and out 50-65 times a day on domestic ,
-
Thanks I think I’ll go for the HD again then.
-
theres only one heat exchanger in the cabinet though........you ve just got 2 mixer valves instead of one
-

do yourself a favour and get a pure freedom reelmaster nigel......you can obviously see the build quality in my pic at the start of this thread....very fast to wind in on 99 too....had mine 2 years now and it has never missed a beat......
-

No there’s not there are two heat exchangers ,you cannot have two mixer valves on one exchanger , it’s difficult to get a picture of both of them but this is the best I can do 😂😂😂😂(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1593022356_FF8FCE20-9694-4E73-A9E1-705414DA6659.jpeg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1593022355_1382D70F-DDA1-4EF7-BAAD-79D284BAD002.jpeg)

Apart from when the chain kept coming off and you drive a 350. mile round trip to get it fixed 😂😂😂😂
-
Ah yes the reel master I forgot about that 1 I may go for that 1 instead actually.
-
Yeah saying that I can maintain everything on the HD myself I wouldn’t want to have to take that other 1 out and either send it back or have a long drive.

yes i did have teething issues with it the first week after delivery....but i gave them the benefit of the doubt,it could of been damaged in transit...its been great for 2 years now and will be for many more i expect.....
the newer HD reels seem well overpriced at £400+ esp considering their made of plastic and have weak motors, they are also slow to wind in....they just arent built for the rigours we put them through...the older HD reels are not a patch on the reelmaster ....no contest IMO.......i know 2 windys with them...mines better by a country mile....

ah.... right.......on other 2 man grippatank systems you can clearly see the 2 exchangers either side of the cabinet.....
-
Splash has the same as me 2 heat exchangers did you opt for 1 exchanger
only need one.......mines a one man 9kw system.....no plans to employ again! ;D
-
Proper men with swivel chairs have 2 exchangers didn’t anyone ever tell you that Daz 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🪑

i have got a swivel chair too!(but only the one!) ;D......and a little desk with laptop and printer on....my "office"...... :)
i love the fact its just me.....theres a lot to be said for keeping things simple...it makes me happier...

One problem they have with the heaters when they supply them is they can be prone to leaking from the bottom inlet to the header tank,I can see from yours and splash you have the same problem as I did.

Nope.....no leaks from mine......
-
Splash has had leaks either that or he’s topped up his header tank from 5 foot away 🤣🤣
-

When driving around the coolant comes out of the cap breather on the header tank , right pain !!!!!!
-
If you Plumbers tape the male on the heater it stops this my old heater did this, you need to change it every couple of months though coz as you know it gets very hot but it works. 👍
-
Splash has had leaks either that or he’s topped up his header tank from 5 foot away 🤣🤣
if you mean from the cap that screws onto the top of the header tank then yes mines leaks a bit but its not a major problem.its always done it from day one!
-
Like I say PTF tape does the trick 👍

Yes that’s where mine leaks from it’s a pain but has done it from new , just wipe it up now and again , if I have a spare bit of time will phone Oliver and see if there is anything that can be done about it , mine keakes out if the top of the header tank can not the threaded part
-
Like I say PTF tape does the trick 👍
It’s not the threads that leak it comes out of the breather hole on the top of the cap
-
The breather hole on mine is tiny I just get mainly steam, honestly my water was boiling today reading 50 odd on the controller which is way way lower than at the brush drying instantly near enough lovely 👌

mine was reading 61c on the controller after lunch......thats a record....its never been that high before....its usually in the 40s or low 50s....nearly burnt my hands on the hose!
-
I had to reel in with a wet cloth the water was to hot to use really,I did a Georgian windowed first clean today all the tops of the bars were green the other guy just let em get that way ideal the water being so hot breezes through em you can see that they are supposed to be white now 🤣 she was made up.
