When i visited Ionics the other day, i was really quite impressed with their set-up.
However i did notice one major let down. (in my opinion).
I couldn't believe that you can't stop the water flow to the brush without either kinking the hose or disconnecting.
Do other manufacturers make their poles like this or do some come with stop valves or even triggers to regulate the flow of water.

You can fit a valve at the base of the pole if you wat to or you can buy one of peter fogwills auto brushes! Just tap it on the left side of the window to switch on the water and tap on the right to turn off water.
It great! I've had mine for a week and could not do without it now :)

It does depend on the type of windows you do though , if you have flush to the wall windows how do you turn it off ?

If it's a flush window I just turn on edge and tap beside the window. And before you say, You don't get soaked.
But in all honesty how many times do you come across flush windows? Think I only have about 5-7 houses on my round!

Gardiner sell the the flow control valves that you need i use them and there great i have one pole without it and i feel lost without the flow control valve on this pole so i will be ordering a few more this week.

I also use poles from gardiners with the flow valves. I find they are ok for restricting the flow but not for stopping it as any water i saved was soon blasted out when turned on again due to the back pressure.
After a few mishaps i don't bother anymore.
I set my flow rate by using a varistream though i would like to be able to turn that on and off from the pole.

Mark,
use your flow valve on your pole in conjuction with your varistream and you will be able to control it from the pole.

Due to me useing lots of diffrent poles my valve is connected to the m/bore hose.I open the van doors put the hose through my belt,connect the pole hose straight away,pull pole from van and hold the m/bore hose as I walk.
The valve is allways near my hip, dead easy for switching on and off and I never damage it because when I have finnished windows I wallk back to van put pole away and real in the hose,when hose tightens the waist I unclip hose fom belt.
Simple.
Mark cant have his set up properly if it spurts out more then normall.

Hello alex, i do use it to turn the flow down slightly with no problem but when i turn it off for 15 seconds or more i get a big jet of water come out until the pressure goes back to before.
I thought this was normal.

Yep that wouldn't suprise me.
I use mostly the freedom trolley connected to my van tank. I also have 100psi flojet with no varistream connected to tank that i use very occasionally on really dirty jobs.
When i disconnect pole and a connect other pole i get a spurt come out.
What could i be doing wrong?
