Just put this up had a friend 27 years solid build had been 'lifting back pack water trolley out of his van for years.
Until few months ago lifted it out bit twist then bang.
He now unable to lift anything as looks as though back is gone,
That was about 3 month ago.
This is why asking this.
Noticed people that have water back packs, large 30 to 40 litre water containers on trolley systems.
Also heavy DI systems on trolleys or any other heavy items that need to be lifted off/ out of your van/trucks etc.
Has anyone have a particular way to lift them OUT/OFF.
OTHER THEN PHYSICAL LIFTING THEM

Most window cleaners wise up and get rid of them after a few years and go for van mounts with electric fixed reels....far easier on the body.....👍

If you have to do this for jobs then you need to seriously re think how you run your business.

I used to lift them in and out keeping my back as straight as possible!bending my knees instead....I dont miss the days I used to lift a 50L pure freedom trolley out of my van and pushing it around when I first started WFP....🙄😀

So that is quite a weight to lift 50kgs plus the trolley weight.
But everyone got start some where.
When they do haven't money to have fully equipped van with all the bells and whistles.
All I asked if anyone know a lifter to get them out without busting your boiler.
This would probably help when starting off.
Would think before you got to you had a big water tank in your van.
You would of like to of do it easier?

Use a ramp or get an ex delivery van or wheelchair accessible van with a taillift. 👍
-
Are you stuck in a time warp H Man. Trad gear, trolleys.
Keep going you might catch up one day.
-
I would use a ramp and wheel it in and out of the van , as most others have said generally we all use a van mount system like this all you need to carry is the pole so much easier , quicker and safer and none need to keep re filling . How many poles :o
8 per van with two guys in each one .

I have a trolley system in my van which I use on a couple of jobs
I always make sure it empty when putting it back in the van even if it means throwing away a few ltrs of pure water
when I need it I lift it out of the van (it's very light) and fill it from my hose so no heavy lifting involved
-
I had this happen to me, not in the same league as your mate.
What I found was pulling the 25litre carbouys from the bulkhead to the back doors of the van was not good for the back.
If I had a trolley or back pack use a lightweight wooden ramp to wheel it out the van
Or do what I did get rid of trolley and go full van mounted tank.
I found pulling these carbouys about at weird angles was the thing that causes issues as all of the weight could be put on one side of your back.
To sum up either forget trolleys or backpack......or use a 12v pump and fill the backpack on the ground when it’s empty and bungy it to a small luggage type trolley.

8 Poles per van!
There are less Poles in Warsaw.
-
as the others have said use a ramp or get a diy system in the van - with your experience and skills that would work out cheaper than a trolley system
and s it happens I went straight to a van system
8 poles in a van - now thats what I call crowded

I would tidy the back (what a mess) ;D ;D

We do bungalows right up to 8 storey hotels and apartment blocks so need a variety of sizes in poles , we also work two guys per van on some jobs three per van so basically need two poles in each size , per van .
