does anyone use biocides on render, like algo clear, or softwash pro 50
I understand that with these pruducts you just apply the biocide via spray nozzle or brush , then leave it to work over time .

if you have used this method , what have been your experiences?
also do you use a surfactant in with the biocide to help it cling to the render ?

I use this method but don't pay out on expensive brews like algo clear - hypo does the job instantly at a fraction of the cost ( now with the added benefit it kills corona virus  ;D )

 Water
 Hypo
 Soap

I use a 60l barrel, 15 litres of SH and the rest water with a few big dollops of soap.

Simple as that, you can add more hypo dependening on how stubborn the algae/dirt is.

300 mill of clever wash mixed in 20 leters of hypo then mix 3 to 1 water job done

Go on then... Been off the forum for a couple of years what's HYPO? link please if you have one 👍

Price wise there isn’t much in it I just bought 5 ltr of Benz cost £106 delivered.  Algo clear pro 10 ltr £154 delivered , Benz stuff took 10 days to arrive algo clear was delivered in two !!!!! All biocides will kill red , black and green algi mould etc if you use the right dilution rate and are prepared to Waite  up to six months plus . Hypo will kill and remove it in an hour , and costs £12 for 20 ltr. It’s a no brainier which product to use

Sodium hypochlorite , or bleach , sold from farm shops as dairy hypochlorite, or from swimming pool supplies shops as a sterilising  agent for  pools .

We have used both on different jobs I dont find bio offers residual prevention of re growth like the manufacturers claim we did two roofs right next to each other , one with bio the other with hypo  the hypo one is still clean 12 months on but after 8 months the bio one has a green film of algi starting to grow again   When cleaning a roof with hypo it changes colour within one hour , with bio I find it takes months , Ime not recommending hypo and condemning bio but from my experience over 15 years hypo gives me better faster and longer lasting results, I know some won’t agree with this but it’s what I have found , talking to a great bio advocate he said bio should be applied annually to keep the growth from re forming , I feel this isn’t an option as bio products are very expensive  , legally the strongest mix you can use is 20-1 but talking to two bio suppliers they have said use it stronger 10-1 , I feel hypo would be better evan if you had to re apply it annually as it’s so cheap , I hate to say it but I feel hypo gives much better results although I don’t like using it .

That’s interesting. I have used Algo Pro and know it keeps the regrowth down v well. A few roofs I have done just get better all the time! Literally years later.
Hypo is much much cheaper though and I guess on big jobs it’s a considerable saving on materials.

does hypo effect composite windows and doors?
