I should of gone to greece on may 3rd.....ive just rebooked it for the same time next year..... ;D
-
Does it get hot up north? ;D
-
Haven’t found it too bad to be honest lads.
It’s not been as hot as the heatwaves we’ve had in recent years.
Anything under 26c is pretty workable for me, it’s when it’s in the high 20’s and early 30’s that I struggle!

I just love the hot weather.
Wearing your shorts sun pelting down on your face getting nice and brown.
It also helps with all my aches and pains that nice warm sun getting into the bones.
-
Be careful out there; the Sun can be a killer.
-
Me too, i have a 11bed manor house to clean in and out on Thursday and Friday so the cooler weathers welcome :)
-
Yer, I hate cleaning my own house.

Think we will be giving it a miss this year... got flights booked for July but not paid for accommodation yet... Not bothered about going even if I can.
Probably just have a week in a caravan somewhere in August if things get back to some level of normal.
Dont think I would pre book anything for next year either not unless it's free cancellation. Just wait until last minute.
-
The thing is , the closer to the time your going especially in half terms, the more expensive it gets. It pays to plan ahead sometimes and iv only paid the deposit on a 0% credit card , the rest is due July 2021

Supposed to be on an Italian islands Cruise right now, obviously didn’t happen.
Also have booked for the usual 3 weeks in Corfu for August, flights and accommodation booked and paid for independently. Haven’t written this one off just yet. It’s a small apartment, not a big hotel chain so if I think the travel part will be safe by then I’ll still go.
If not then will go camping Instead. Price of UK caravan holidays are going to be horrific this year.

I owned a caravan in Rhyl last year and quickly realised they are a rip off. Never again!

Yep, owning a static caravan can be costly. Firstly the caravan is a depreciating asset, then you have site fees, caravan insurance, inflated electricity/gas prices etc etc. I do love my caravan but when you take all of that into account I reckon at the moment it’s costing me about 10k a year, this will come down slightly as the depreciation reduces. Then when you decide it’s time to sell up the park owners usually get around 15% + vat from the sale of your caravan.

Wales answer to Blackpool is Rhyl ;)

I realised it’s a rip off when they put the price of gas and electric up. It was gonna cost as much as a house to run! Bought it for 21k ..... no independent buyer would buy it from us because it was on this certain park.... ended up selling after 6 months back to the park for 6k. Ripped us off right to the end ... hey ho lesson learnt!

on topic i worked 2 hours in the rain this morning then it cleared up for my remaining 3 hours work....i forgot how enjoyable it is to work in the rain sometimes!it was very refreshing after all the hot weather..... :)
-
I took the day off. Got to keep my earnings down for the second instalment!
-
Day off for me too. Spent the day with the family.
-
It's been too hot for me, I thought I was gonna 'spontaneously combust' at one point!
And I hate sun tan lotion; greasy skin that every bloody insect sticks too!
My lips got burnt so I used lip balm for the first time this year...that's horrible too! Although given the social distancing rules, I couldn't kiss all my hot customers anyway, so that wasn't a problem.
On a positive note, I have a holiday soon...
...it's not really a proper holiday, just 2 days under a sun lamp, in the lounge, watching youtube vids of the Maldives! At least the wine will be cheaper ;D
