Hi all,
I'm a newbie and I've jsut started a Wheelie bin cleaning business in Solihull and Worcestershire.
I want to know how I go about setting up Direct debit/standing order contracts. I'm having myy first meeting with the bank next week, do I just speak to the bank about setting something up. Is Direct debit just a standard form or is it wise to have some sort of terms and conditions to go with it?
I know this may sound stupid to alot of you experienced business folk but hey I'm new to all this.
I look forward to speaking to you soon

Hi, i have just enquire about that with my bank and was informed that for a direct debit it was no point unless you are making over 250k min a year, the best way is the standing order, for that you just need to suply the client with your bank details and the value and he as to set it up with is bank, hope this helps

Many thanks fopr your response, sorry for my delay.
Our bank have advised us to use standing orders due to the fact that the customer is in control.
They never mentioned about the £250k a year though. Why is this an issue?
Do you have to pay to receive money?

Hi
There are no such things as ' Stupid questions'...
Just stupid people who don't ask enough questions.
