Im sick of these leaking after a few years, ive even stripped one down to no avail. Ive looked at back posts on this, and ive read that apparently John Guest do a swivel elbow fitted that would replace the hozelock type? Anyone do this? A link would be great?
Thanks m

Be careful what you moan about because the lynch mob will be here soon saying how tight you are for not purchasing a new one as soon as it starts leaking

It’s a disposable / consumable item we change rectus 21 female fittings every 3-5 weeks annoying but it’s not the end of the world .

Been using these for a while.. much more sturdier that the brass hose lock

I have to say I'm happy if my reel lasts a few years, let alone the brass elbow.

Ditto. It wears in time due to the resistance
The price for the one her is a few pence cheaper than gardiner but eBay includes delivery!

You need stainless steel Rectus 26 elbow

The rectus 26 type look very simlar to the hozelock style, I was thinking something a little stronger like this hydraulic fitting below, i might give it a go. thanks m

Mines same as the brass one lasted just short of 4 years but to be honest if it lasted a year i would be happy

i use a pure freedom reelmaster electric reel and it comes with a brass industrial rotary joint on the side with a 1/2 inch barb on it.....this has been the best fitting....its never leaked.....ive also got a manual cox reel with a similar brass joint on the side, again its never leaked.....
the brass hozelock swivel elbows always leak as i used to have one on a claber reel....i used to have to change them every few months....
in my experience its been worth investing in better, more professional reels just for the smooth and leak free operation that these types of reels provide.....

That looks like it might not swivel suitably for a hose reel ???
