Title: Airlock, suction of pump
Post by: jonboywalton75 on April 07, 2020, 04:16:07 pm
I have an airlock problem and was looking to change my suction pipework to john guest fittings, i have a tank outlet as pictured and a Shurflo strainer also as pictured and wondered what fittings and pipe i needed to connect up to my Shurflo pump.
Help appreciated

I’m confused to what it is you want.

Do you want to connect what you have posted above to your shurflo (that strainer will connect direct to the pump), or are you asking ‘what john guest fittings do you need’?

I'll use your recommendation David.
Just wondered what fitting/reducer to use to fit the piping to the strainer

Could i use one of these to adapt the strainer to the John guest tubing?
I'm a bit thick with this, sorry  ;D

15mm pipe to pump/ strainer.........

To go from the tank to 15mm pipe you gonna need a brass reducer. I'm not sure what that thread size is that comes out of your tank, someone else might know ?

Use this for your tank:

https://purefreedom.co.uk/large-tank-outlet-fittings-kit.html

You can the double jubilee clip the hose onto the barb. (There are different sizes, just get the relevant one to the hose you want to use)

Those plastic ones you’ve listed above have the potential of breaking a little if you tighten the jubilees too tightly.
