Title: Cleaners finally gettin credit for what we do
Post by: tonyoliver on April 04, 2020, 11:49:05 am
Window cleaners and gardners get
A bit of reflected glory, from the hospital and care homes sector .
We used to be laughed and insulted in the cleaning industry .
Now ,they suddenly need us
Firstly to clean up the virus in hospitals .
To mop up the mess others make
To clean their hospitals ,schools and offices and their homes
Hopefully we can make this work for us in the future
Any thoughts how?

They aren’t on about window cleaners  ::)roll , they are on about the cleaners who go round hospitals cleaning floors , indoor surfaces and toilets 🚽. They are the ones who need credit.

ive not been laughed at.       People used to be embarrassed to say they were a window cleaner.      Things have now changed.     We now have cars and vans instead of a Cart.    or bike.   Blame George Formby

If you stretch 'window cleaner' over your whole personality and it's the only thing you are, you're going to have some self esteem problems.

I see this with some amateur runners; they stretch the 'I'm a super human ultra marathon runner' over the whole of their ego and nothing else matters.

Then they run a bad ultra marathon; maybe they DNF (did not finish) it.  And they feel crap about themselves for being such a weak and terrible person.  Honestly, I see this kind of stuff regularly.

But you can be a good father/son/husband/partner/member of society/dog or cat owner/etc, etc, etc and find your self worth there.

We're not five years old and want to be clapped and get recognition for the stuff we do.

Man up.

I think subconsciously a lot of us still do. Why else would we put thousands of posts on a forum when hundreds would do?
