Title: What size pole
Post by: RPCCS on April 03, 2020, 12:08:33 pm
Would I need to reach the second floor on this building? Normally they are done trad from inside as they turn inward, but obviously not possible just now.

30ft for ease. 25ft if you stand close and crick your neck. What did you use to get 2nd floor. If 18 then a 25. If 22 then a 27 or 30.

I would say 30’ pole as a minimum and you will probably need a decent size gooseneck due to the depth of the sill.

Its probably doable with a 25 but I would use a 30 on that mate. Sometimes it's not just the height that you need to consider its obstacles at ground level like flowerbeds etc a 30 will give you extra height and more flexibility about where you can stand and will definitely make the job easier 👍

On modern domestic allow 8ft and older property 10ft per level plus allow for distance away from building, add more if sloping away from property. On commercial allow 10ft for every level and extra if ground level is raised higher than normal.

No way a 25 will do it . 25 doesnt even reach the first floor winfowsill😂. The first floor is done with a combo pole, SLX 25 with clx extension to make it a 31 The 31 will reach just past top of first floor windows.

Can't upload any public images of the building but if you google Dissington Hall you will see the photos of the property in its entirety to give a better idea of height.

Why bother asking in the first place then?

What do you mean why bother asking? Its a genuine question what size pole ,what is so difficult to understand? People have replied with their thoughts but obviously can't guage well enough from photo provided, which is why I said 31 is not long enough. If you look at pic 1 the FIRST floor windows have neen done with the 31 ft pole its the TOP floor I was asking about

Perhaps you could have shared that a 31’ pole only gets to the top of the first floor windows?
With that info you are probably looking at a 47’ pole

Maybe I should have said in o p yeah. A 47footer ? That being the case, the top floor wont get done until after coronavirus is over as that would cost  more than I make from the job and wouldn't have any other use for it. Thanks
