He has just said it live on TV
-
It was music to the ears
-
Absolutely people don’t want to sit at home looking out of dirty windows you are outside on your own,he said be careful no accidents though please.
That’s enough for me now I’ve been being careful where I’ve been going with my work,I’ll do a normal day now until I’m told otherwise.
-
There is no way on earth he would have been allowed to say that on live TV unless it was correct,if anyone wants to find out for thereselves it was on Coronavirus Q&A
-
Who is Chris Chow?
Isn't he one of those who started this off?
Does he want the UK to get infected with mobs of window cleaners germing everyone?
And has he read Busby's post about putting snipers out on the street?

It does for me I won’t be walking on so many eggshells now when I’m driving to work,as far as the police goes they won’t be stopping anyone with window cleaning written all over their vans.
-
It’s the daily coronavirus update its genuine 👍

-

However, in true CIU style, I would like to point out he actually said and I quote "I THINK SO" so it's just his opinion ;D

Anyone still in denial ;D
Just the usual screamers I would guess. ;D

There's still many doubts.
Get to work (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1585598034_rolleyes[1].gif).

23.50 min mark...bang on....

I've been staying quiet on this debate as feel its a personal opinion and I personally chose to stay home. However this could be a gamechanger for me. Of course the government could soon order a complete shutdown anyway......
-

The cops were in the queue behind me getting a coffee from the Costa machine in the petrol station this morning. I wasn't pepper sprayed or tasered fortunately ;D

He has just said it live on TV
For someone who spends his CIU life constantly telling others how well he's doing, how big & well priced his work is etc...... you're awfully desperate to get back to work!!
It seems to be all the "cyber millionaires" bricking it- not in fear of a deadly virus but rather losing a few weeks wages!!🤣🤣

Exactly what I said a few days ago , great minds think alike 😂😂😂
-
this is my personal reason for staying home .
a couple of hours ago I saw my partner off to work . she works as a nurse in hospital.
everytime she comes home , she says there have been deaths .
I know I can work, its frustrating that it will take probably a year to replace my savings after this is over, not o mention the damage it will do to my business .
but this isn't about me is it . its about playing my part to do everything in my power to protect me and others . protect the NHS .
-
Tough call isn't it?
-
I'd question the importance of it but I wouldn't want it to be a Choi carp.
-
Lol still hanging on to that couch are we unless you are not leaving the house at all and I mean at all you are more at risk walking round the shops,it’s not in the air but it is if you walk someone in Tesco’s that not keeping the proper distance which they haven’t been.
You are out in the open air on your own working who you gonna catch it from if you are being sensible.
-
I tell you what there’s a few lazy guys out there 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧
-
We're only a week in and the BS'ers are falling like flies!! ;D
The air around here is thick with a certain odour!!😆😆

It's okay, don't live off your savings, life off your partner's income.

Don't spread fake news, Clean, government advice is far more than just 'stay home'.
Only stupid people believe that.
If everyone stayed home nurses wouldn't be to go to work would they?

They might not last that long.

Is it worth posting a new poll?
Interesting to see if then results have changed from a 50/50 split.
-
Whether you work or not, it's down to personal Choi's.

i dont often agree with nigel but this is true..........the risks are so low id go so far as its "negligible"............this is going to go on for months so we might as well be working outside a safe distance from everybody......

Trouble is the majority of my customers only watch bbc news.
The only person I know with the virus seems to have got it from an overnight stay in hospital (non virus related).
Those whose partner works in one of the caring professions are at the most risk of getting coronavirus.
-
Ive got a feeling my phones going to be crazy tomorrow when the public realise this. ;D

Mental.
How would you know what your customers watch?
Did you do a survey of their TV preferences?

I’ve got some good work wants cleaning that’s why
-
I reckon I’ve changed my mind about working 20 times since last week. It was doing my head in , wasn’t sleeping etc and as a director paid dividends in not going to get any help
So took the decision to test the water today and so glad I did . My customers have all been brilliant had one cancellation. I’ve not been within 10 meters of anyone today . So my advice is while you can get out there and do what you can . You might be surprised at how level headed your customers are
-
I was pleasantly surprised I thought I’d go out and come back after a day and sack it until this all cleared up,I’ve been encouraged to work by customers.
Let’s get this right you’ve got to realise this is going to go on for ages if you don’t make a decision now to work you will have to in weeks to come,I know that once I’ve gone round the majority of my work say 6-8 weeks worth they will then know the situation and that I will be continuing to come during this or at least try to.
The longer you leave it the more chance you’ve got in you being poached or more stressed thinking you will be,if you are working rural or semi rural try and do that all the customers I’ve seen understand you need to crack on to a degree
-
I haven’t stopped working.
I just carried on as normal. All my customers are glad to see me.
-
Customers- people are so fickle it only takes the people you clean to see on the news you can carry on by choice,if you still ain’t turning up they will jump ship nothing surprises me with customers these days.
You think you know people then you don’t,the fact you think you are doing the right thing by staying at home makes no difference to the selfish general public that want clean windows,I’ve had texts from customers that are only just due are you still coming they really need doing with the weather we’ve had lol.
There’s a lot of people this virus hasn’t changed much they are in most of the day looking out of the windows anyway and hardly go out, won’t be long they’ll be saying I wonder where that window cleaner is 😂😂😂🤧
-
Rubber gloves 🧤 on chest out chin up and crack on,once you’ve got a few days back in you will feel better about it just be careful keep yourself to yourself and get earning,it’s like going back to school after the 6 week summer break always a little bit of anticipation after a few days it was like you never had the time off 👍 💪
-
Was it Chris Choi or Chris and Poy that told us we could go to work?
Show me show me, who said it?
-

Thats why its always good to never contact customers, just turn up quick/clean/leave slip/hope for money. If they see another cleaner they'll go over to him and ask him instead. Imagine living your business life/model like that ? ;D

I think that will stick in peoples' minds when they are watching the news.
I can imagine some old dear watching the news, sobbing because she's just heard that window cleaners can work and her shiners have not turned up yet.
-
I thought this was a forum for window cleaners . I reckon there’s loads on here who are not going out and cleaning windows . Maybe they could join another forum . “ kept mans forum “ .
-
Joke .
-
I went out today after sitting at home all week
First job was a block of flats, the second person that came out said,"oh im glad to see you,our windows are terrible,we didn't know if you'd still be working"
I Felt better straight away, then my phone started ringing and texts with people asking if i was still working
I thought, thats odd!! ,until one of them told me about the news last night
Positive comments all day long ,people saying its good to see you ETC
whei i bonzai, we should write songs about you ;D
He was reet all along man!!!
Get back to work lads
-
I can't tell you how helpful the social distancing is.
If we all keep it up, I think a feasible scenario is a return to some normality at the beginning of May.
As long as we keep to the rules now, we'll end up in a much better place after Easter than is feared.
-
I do feel sorry for those window cleaners that have no choice but to self isolate for health reasons. If you or family member have any symptoms, take 14 days off then get straight back to it. Most customers won't even notice you've taken two weeks off.
I have no sympathy for anyone using it to skive off for the next 3 to 6 months without any personal health reasons. Give it another few weeks and you will start to loose customers. I doubt we will ever go into a full lock down as it looks like the rules in place are working as expected. Too early to really tell, but my predictions have been close far.
-
Joke .
My missus said its ok for me to laugh, so you're good ...... ;D

I dont need to. Not going to waste anymore of my time.
I respect what ever you decide to do. It's your business.

The worst thing all day was suppressing a sneeze whilst looking at glass, with the sun on it 8)

Yes. Haven't we all mate. Our only sanity ;D ;D

I took a few days off last week but went back on Friday. I had a conversation {about 12 foot away} with a customer today. She said her gardeners are due tomorrow and she hopes they come "why wouldn't they"? she said to me. I think this is how a lot {not all} domestic customers feel about their window cleaner too.
As long as I follow the advice I can't catch it or pass it on while working.
New gloves every job.
Keep at least 10 foot away from everyone.
No cash payment.
Not posting invoice through the letterbox.
.Tesco's is another risk level all together.
-
new gloves every job, why. I cannot see postmen thinking this way

We'll pay the grant back in taxes, Biggles.
We're not being kept; it's just a loan. We're just spending ours before we get it.
Life's too short.
Stay safe and don't die before your grant comes through.

when she comes home in the morning we need to isolate from each other.
so heres the question ?

Sorry to hear that but I still say the same thing as before,if you walk round a supermarket you are at more of a risk than you would be out in the open air cleaning windows.
If truth be known we will have all ended up having some sort of strain of this Virus,if you stay indoors but visit the shops you are wasting your time you are still at as much of a risk.
-
Even if I didn’t have to go to work I still would do,I can’t think of anything worse than staying at home every day.
My Mrs knows I get cabin fever after so many hours indoors.
