For those that are working or about to start back on Monday do you/will you have a written policy concerning the work we do and the changes in work practices that we have made because of Covid 19 ?
Would it be a good idea to get a generic one made up for the forum so members can read through and adapt to suit their individual needs? perhaps kept in our vans for reference.
I know we had customer information letters back when WC were switching from trad to WFP so was thinking this could be applied to working legally as the government has stated during Corona Virus.
Thoughts please???????

Not for me....its just common sense really and this can easily be explained as most customers will be home when i call......
No inside work(which I stopped years ago anyway)
Keeping at least 2m apart from anybody
Wear nitrile gloves and wash hands frequently throughout the day
Online payments if possible(most do anyway)
Spray door handles/gate handles with milton fluid if customers are ok with that...
Refuse all tea, coffee or any drinks off the customers
That's it........

I’ve put a stapled note on my window cleaning tickets and laminated signs on the inside windows of my van with this:
Following the first ministers speech on the 24th March in which she encouraged self employed window cleaners to continue to work in the community, I will continue to provide a window cleaning service. Please be assured that I take every precaution possible to ensure everyone’s safety. This includes following social distancing guidelines and wearing gloves at all times.

No need...everyone knows to keep their distance now!the police song 'dont stand so close to me' has never been more apt!😀
-
Doesn’t look good I’m afraid, sky news saying only 1.7m people out of 5m of us self employed may get a pay out.
At least we can still work, for now!
My issue is I’ve lost a fair amount of Monthly commercial work, which won’t be coming back till they all reopen.
Not a lot we can do about it, just gotta crack on!

Not everyone knows window cleaners are still permitted to work tho........if some window cleaners don’t know we’re permitted to work, what’s the chances of the general public knowing? If my covering note / signs on van make that clear to a few inquisitive people without the need for me to try and explain myself, that’ll do for me.

Same boat and some of it was our favourite work.

I agree. For that reason we've decided to take some time off.
Fully respect all those that have to go out to work though.

Good lad.
I wouldn't make any decisions before today's out. I've been saying for ages, today's the day. Hopefully.
Daz, we can't rely on 'common sense'.

And the best you can do is come up with some appeal-to-emotion-virtue-signal that justifies your hysterical post?
It's like you know better than the scientists.

That's right, get aggressive and be an internet hardman. Well done, but I'll just laugh at you.
I'm just someone who can read and understand the science-led government guidelines.
Try them:

Don't lower yourself, harleyman. It's not worth it.
It is an emotional time but don't let him bait you. He's narked because a pandemic has interrupted his routine.
