I decided to close down due to the advice to STAY AT HOME!
what do we do now?

Think about 10 people posted this video link at the same time. ;D
Strange times we are in. I guess this seems clear though, we won’t be getting offered the 80% package anymore.
Keep working or starve?

What you need to do now is start THINKING and understand that life is often not black and white and includes a bit of NUANCE.
Go to work and stay at home, other than the reasons that the gov advised we can do (exercise/shopping/medical reasons).
Anyone who thought it meant total lock down and being welded into their homes needs to give their head a wobble.
We cleaned about 15 decent sized houses today; very little contact with customers.

Re Sturgeon video. That is just Scotland though. England will be different. I altered my fb post to tell folk I WILL be working after all until told not to, but after reading the other threads I am totally baffled. I have to work to pay bills and provide food, but window cleaning is NOT an essential service involved with the supply of food, an emergency service or the provision of heath care, or delivering mail. I don't know what to do.I'm off today as pump battery needed charging and I didn't do it last night as after listening to Bore- is. I wasn't going to work today. Atm I will aim to work tomorrow unless there is some clarity in tonight's update as to if we can work or not.

The bit of nuance that i've understood is that Nichola Sturgeon only licenses Scottish Window cleaners, and not the rest of the UK ?

The Health Secretary is being questioned at the moment in the HoC regarding people going out to work.
His advice is still as clear as mud......

Yes, covid-19 doesn't affect the Jocks. ;D

She wasn't talking about licences. She was talking about how window cleaners and gardeners are safe to do their jobs as long as they maintain social distancing.
She went onto say that this is good for their communities.
Sometimes I shake my head - in a sad kind of way - at my fellow window cleaners.

Sturgeon is NOT a Health proffesional. Our NHS staff are and all of them say stay home. This is the time i suppose where you choose NOT to listen to experts but where you listen to people saying the things you want to hear?
You ask one of your NHS running friends what they think?

Government takes it's advice from the Chief Medical Officer. Sturgeon has one too (so does Wales and NI).
These are the top people in their profession.
And what she says is in full alignment with government guidelines.

Sturgeon could change her mind as quickly as Sports Direct.
Well, maybe not that quick.

Theres 2 debates here
The first one is can you work, which is YES
Im also shocked at how many window cleaners cant grasp this concept
The second one is should we, which has no right or wrong answer other than the one you tell yourself to be true

So on news at this moment in time (bbc news channel)
If your work can not be done from home, then you go to work.
Thats us is it not
It is also encouraged to help keep the economy going

Yes, that's you.
We were told yesterday evening by the PM himself that was the case.

back tomorrow

Yes but last night there was much confusion whereas today things have been made clear!
If you can not work from home, then go to work! Provided that you are able to follow the guidelines of social distancing! If you cant, then stay at home!
This is not limited to key workers and doesnt leave much in doubt.

The only confusion came from the screamers, mate. My back posts were clear because Boris was clear. People listened and then came up with some weird stuff he didn't even say like 'essential'.

If Boris was clear then why are you quoting both BBC Scotland and Nichola Sturgeon ?

You're literally talking to a bloke (Nathan) who believes he and his family have had the virus, is almost over it and is going to go to work tomorrow ;D Tell me more about "screamers" ?

Nathan is confused and is one of the screamers.
What's confusing you? ;D

Because that was the subject of the original post.
And Boris was clear.
What's confusing you about that?

There was zero confusion, it was 100% clear to everyone except the drama queens.
Tosh has it exactly right.
It’s nice that sturgeon has used window cleaners as an example, but anyone who actually read the statement already knew it simply because we can’t work from home.

I heard what Boris said. I'm not confused. I'm just not sure how you think Nichola Sturgeon speaks for the whole UK, she doesn't. What Sturgeon says does NOT apply to you.

Nope, i have the luxury (😥😥) of staying indoors at the moment and wait for clarity to unfold and so when I do go back to work, i wont get all the nay sayers or screamers!
So in your opinion Banzai, everyone who hasn't had the test because they aren't testing, have in fact not had the virus! So unless you are in hospital with the severe conditions everyone else is completely wrong....... hhhhmmmm you keep telling yourself that!
Never mind all the reports and tested subjects who had the test and proved positive but didn't show any symptoms 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤷♂️
-
Either way, all should be happy despite any initial thoughts on the matter.
Debating it and labelling people isnt really the out come wanted on any of these threads but should be unity and protecting the vulnerable. Isn't that what everyone was concerned with or was it just to earn money or not

Yeah, i'll bet Banzai can't answer that one !!! ;D ;D
-
Sturgeon was clearer than Boris but it doesn't make her any more right. To use the word 'encourage' was very strange.
Things will change again in the next few days. I think Boris is hanging on for his sweetener before locking us down.

Steve wright travelled to work, I'm enjoying listening too.. does he have an essential job?
I'll leave that for others to decide.
