any help would be much appreciated... i've just got a new job which i'm about to start on saturday, i'm guessing it's gonna take 2 of us arround 3days(my lad is just going to be assisting in carrying equipment and trying to prevent me from breaking my neck!)baically the roof hasn't been cleaned for at least 5 years ;well.. ever!
do any of you pro's out there have any tips or ideas that could help?will the wfp clean it all off as there's going to be some dirt that's pretty stuck on!i was wandering if there are any chemicals you can put with the wfp or if the pure water alone will remove the layers of dirt?
cheers jon

Pure water will remove all the dirt may take a while though but you can do it pure water only.
I would recommend non caustic traffic film remover and mix it up to the required strength and put this on with an applicator on a pole and leave it for 5 minutes or so it will help soften all the dirt up and then WFP and it will come off easily.
I get my traffic film remover from northern tools its about £27 thats including vat and delivery for 20 ltrs and its a non caustic one which you want.

i spray the tfr onto the roof first then after 5 mins scrub it off with wfp the polycarbinate comes up like new but the pvc will only come up like new if you do it by hand

cheers also for your help: polycarbinate? eh! excuse me if i seem a bit thick but never heard of it. as for spraying i was just thinking before i saw your note about using my pressure washer to spray it on because this roof is probably around 30feet high by 70feet wide so doing it by using a normal applicater could take ages! i guess that would probably work but, oh hang on when the pressure washer mixes the water normally with detergent i'm sure it doesn't mix it 50/50, probably only about5% at the most? please help

i did one last month haded been cleaned in 10 years , mix a bucket of GG3 very strong just scubed away all over then rinsed plenty came up a dream the pure water rinses off GG3 quite easily
-
cheers but the problem i've got is i can't get onto the roof and we're talking 30foot high so i need to find a way to get the chemicals all over the roof from the ground i'm trying to work out if it'll be possible to use my pressure washer only problem i'm thinking is that the mix because of the water will be too week?

Just ordinary detergent works well enough. Fairy Liquid and let is soak awhile.

I used to use wfp alone but now i find it quicker if its really dirty to use a little detergent with a backflip on a pole get most of the water and detergent back off then wfp quicker and does a great job instead of using wfp alone .

Jhagger - Make sure you do a risk assessment of the job before you start as it,s dangerous being that high and having to use pole with both hands.
Good luck , hope it goes well. robbie- Clearshine- Harrogate
I,ve used a chemical called caterclean( has to be very watered down so would work well with your powerwasher 1 part solution to 10 of water) Leave for 5 mins works great

30 ft use a back pack sprayer on its furthest seting and totaly blits the roof with tfr do it on a wet our over cast day ,then start up the pressure washer put on a foam gun then empty a ltr off washing up liquid on top of the tfr this helps keep it wet under the foam,
then aggitate in leave for ten min then rinse comes up the b******s,,
