yes, and see what happens for me
-
Yes for us on residential. It's 'absolutely necessary' for my bank balance!
-
Yes working tomorrow
-
Yes as otherwise I will have to pack up...
-
Yes, see how it goes tomorrow, if people start cancelling in mass or being funny about it I'll stop.
End of the day this could be a long haul, if we can squeeze a few more days or weeks of income out of it go for it.
-
Pictures will be taken of you and plastered all over social media, Imagine you in local rag, trolls will slate you and your company if on show.
Looks like our Rainy day has finally arrived
I text customers earlier to leave payment out. Just texed to say I wont be out now . Thinking about it we are not essential workers . not when you do hear what these essential workers are actually doing
-
I enjoy working, but after listening to the PM, I couldn’t with right and conscience go tomorrow. .im a window cleaner, in no way an essential service, I come in to contact with surfaces , money, my family.
-
Yes. Essential work? It is for me as its my income with no help like the employed.
Simple

It’s my income too. I’m not loaded.
But sometimes you have to do things for the greater good.
-
So you guys aren't going for three weeks? Sod that. I'm going.
-
NO, as preserving life comes before all else!
Can't believe all the millionaires on here who suddenly can't afford a few weeks off work! ::)roll
-
I can afford it lol but the way I see it, it's still ok to go.

Here it says only essential businesses are to stay open and only travel if essential, does this make it clear or raise questions?! Yet if only essential places of work are staying open it would be argued that we are not essential. Although on the other hand, they are shutting to prevent groups of people mixing and spreading the virus. In our line of work it is, or atleast for us sole traders with no employees,,,,,just us and the windows
-
This is confusing as fook.
They need to clarify what they mean exactly
There's a tweet that says key workers only, another that says essential and another that says absolutely necessary
Could they be more vague ???
After listening to the speech I was confident to go out tomorrow but now I'm really unsure.
-
I'm going tomorrow as everything was arranged, then calling it a day as don't want public pressure

Is it either essential or necessary that you go out tomorrow and clean someone else's windows?
If you had a choice to go do that or save a, or, multiple lives... which would you choose?
There is your answer! It couldn't be any more clear!

Calm down, Rishi will be making an appearance in the next day or two.
-
No.

Its about as clear as mud, First Bojo leaves it in the air open to different interpretation, then the twitter feed is quite definitive, you cant work unless your a key worker but now the latest advise on the Govt website leaves it in the balance again..
1. STAYING AT HOME
You should only leave the house for one of four reasons.
● Shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as
possible.
● One form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your
household.
● Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.
● Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home.

Where is it actually stated that he is even going to do anymore for the self employed?
-
Yeah it’s really necessary to go out and clean windows 😂 get real haven’t you lot ever saved for a rainy day, well it’s raining for a while now boys and girls.
-
It can’t be decided that quickly if he makes a decision and goes back on it because it hasn’t been thought through people would go mad over that, they will sort more out for the self employed it will just take time they’ll have it now with us all off
-
Boris wasn't that clear because this is unprecedented.
At least it's something to tell the grandkids about.
"What did you do when the country was locked down for three weeks, grandad?"
"Errr…...I needed the money" (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1585002702_embarrassed[1].gif).
-
I thought I’d still go out and clean windows, can you imagine what not only people would think but also your customers 😂,desperation springs to mind I think you’d actually get abuse from people.
-
I nearly got a new car a few months ago 😂 glad I took the time to sleep on that.
-
Yes I'm working tomorrow.....first job of the day is an artwork clean then various domestics, some fairly large.......and its gonna be a bright sunny day!😀
-
I think you've got to stop.
You can't guarantee that you wouldn't have some contact with either a customer or someone passing by. Who knows, maybe you've got it and pass it on to them or they give it to you? You just don't know.
Our work provides our living and is therefore important but in this crisis it's not essential. We are not essential workers.
I also think it could be bad for your reputation if customers think you are being irresponsible or passers by think the same and see your van with the sign writing etc. Someone could easily take a photo and upload it on social media. Unlikely to happen but not impossible.
Is it worth it?
-
Do you need to work Dazmond all those bragging posts of your rainy day fund, get your brolly out
-
Boris wasn't that clear because this is unprecedented.
Boris was clear. It was whoever put up the video (now deleted) that said it was "key workers only".
The rules are perfectly clear and in alignment with what BoJo said:

Was it desperate Dan or desperate Daz years ago, prices going up a few weeks ago and now going out in worse conditions than 6ft of snow 😂.
For the foreseeable future our job is on hold and that’s that you can look for all the excuses in the world to go out and think cleaning peoples windows is ok but it’s ridiculous at the stage it’s at now.
A m8 of mine his auntie works as a nurse on the NHS she said honestly heed the warning she has seen some terrible things regarding this Virus,it’s getting to the stage now that you are risking your life’s for a few quid.
-
We could all just carry on and pay the new fines. We don't want to get behind with our schedules.
Thousands of staff are returning to the NHS and military planners are looking at makeshift hospitals but window cleaners need to earn a butty.
-
A lot of us may not have full blown Coronavirus yet, but we may have the Virus itself . All those out yesterday in resorts will have had a share with this virus , not knowing it. Because they all looked healthy enough . Wrong. This is why we need to stay home now and try to slow it down and not spread it. as said , Gates handles, cash even though not in our hand , its off them. they may have it. Don't be so relaxed about it. This is Serious stuff now. Boris is trying not to end up like Italy & Spain. Hospitals having to leave some to die because they cannot give them any help. Overloaded
WE Do not want that here. It is early stages here. 2 weeks Italy were like us. Look at them now. 1000s dying
-
Decided to do the decent thing and phone/ text customers in the morning as too late to disturb them now to inform them won't be around now the government has shut the country down, it's the right thing to do
-
Not many other business working.
If a window cleaner turned up at my house I would tell him Go Away and sack him it's every ones moral duty to stop this.
I will not be working again until this has passed.
-
I was on the fence but have just woken up and the message has changed to you can work if you can't work from home..
Plus if I work today and tomorrow I'm good for this month..
-
I am staying at home for 3 weeks.... plus
