Title: what will you do if its impossible to work for a couple of months?
Post by: dazmond on March 18, 2020, 06:48:38 pm
ill be painting and decorating my flat, helping the missus with the garden and doing all the odd jobs  that i never seem to get round to doing...also as the weather gets better ill be taking the dog for long walks with my missus in the parks around manchester.....👍

im lucky as my missus is an interior designer so i think work will dry up for her too over the next few months so she can do most of the wallpapering as shes good at it! ;D

gotta keep busy if we cant get out and clean windows!

I dunno...
Breaking into off licenses, Stealing underwear from washing lines, poaching the local trout lake?
I'll have plenty of time on my hands so the sky's the limit really.   (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1584557539_grin.gif)

Same as you Daz. Interior work of one type or another that has been neglected.

I’ll probably have the cleanest cooker in Basingstoke.

Perhaps we should have a competition on here comparing hobs or insides of microwaves.

Thing is Italy and Spain are in lockdown but you can still go to work. I think if that were the case I’d do what I could, i’d probs be fairly selective in the places I cleaned, even if it meant ai was only bringing in £300 a week, its better than nothing.

I’ve just had a couple of tonnes of sand and MOT delivered, build a base for a new shed and lay a new patio in the back garden.

Plenty of long walks out in the Cheshire countryside.

Volunteer work in a local nursing home.

Training for a (now cancelled) half marathon so I’ll continue with that.

Strip down my wfp system and desire and rebuild.

The only silver lining to all of this is it’s going to happen in the Spring and not the horrifically wet winter we have just had.

I might watch a bit of porn, drink a little red wine and generally wile my time away recognising that every day you wake up with more than 50p in your pocket is a gift, (oh and ill just do what the missis tells me to!!).

If i couldnt go to work

I have a motorbike that could do with a full strip down and rebuild.

Ive got an indoor trainer for my bike (push bike) so i can ride through the alps on the TV lol

Got a weights bench and weights sat doing nowt so may as well start exercising.

My van and my car both need an oil and filter change, may as well give both a full service and valet.

Learn to cook and bake

Porn, beer, PS4

Sort all my websites out and maybe do some SEO

Oh and if we are allowed out to exercise i guess i`ll take up jogging

You really don’t get it do you , lockdown if it comes means you have to stay in your house no walks in the park  with the misses an dog that’s the whole point of it isolation .

I thought lockdown meant only much needed services i.e Police, NHS workers, etc.
So everyone will still be able to go work?

There are different stages to a lock down.

Mild lock down will also allow people to work who can't work from home

Gamble on what, Daz? They've stopped most sports. I'm trying to cut down on the drink 'n' all. I need to look after myself better if we're all going to die.
Some of us Northerners had to manage with no money under Thatcher but we'll survive. Free enterprise I like to call it.
And there's always a spare 15 grand I can get my hands on in Manchester.

I have recently submitted plans for a house extension so I will need to clean and lift the patio area where the extension is being  built. I also need to relocate the shed/summerhouse. That should keep me relatively busy.

I cleaned some reflective ballards on a sharp bend the other day.  Covered in grime.  Its a rd I use frequently and cant remember ever seeing them reflect red.   Now they light the way and give the relevant warning.
(To highlight their need, many are broken as they have been smashed off by oncoming traffic etc)

If anyone's really stuck, there will be a lot of new job vacancies out there.
Part-time, temporary etc to get us through.
Window cleaning is not the be all and end all and we might be doing the country a service. Every cloud......

They’ll have little choice but to put the country on lockdown, starting with London.

They have to drip feed the progressive restrictions though as London could potentially riot if it’s announced at once.
