Title: daytime knocking
Post by: Fast 1 * on July 06, 2006, 04:29:32 pm
this may seem a daft question, but has anybody had any luck knocking in the day time rather than night?I know you are probably just going to get housewifes. But when you get in from work, and sit at the dinner table,do you really want to deal with a window cleaner at the door?Do most door to door salesman work daytime?

To be honest I think you will find the housewife is the very person you need to speak to. Most husbands probably don't even know who cleans their windows.

Hello,

I was daytime knocking, only for a few hours a day.

I managed to drum up £170 in 2 weeks.

I fell lucky with a window cleaner offloading a street and now in 3 weeks i've got £510 of regular work and i'm picking 'em up all the time.  :)

i  have been knocking doors in both day and night. The monst i have got is about £100 in 2 hours!!(and that is at £8 a house!)
But sometimes i get nothing in 2 hours! it all depends on the area really. but give it a go.
Do an area in the night and make a note of the houses that aren't in, then go again in the daytime and calll on all your not-at -homes. That way you cover all angles! :)

Interested in your term not-at -homes. Wondered if that was a term used by you in connection with any other type of work.

Fast one im sure you would get quite a few in during the daytime as a lot of my customers are in during the day.

Try calling the shops in the town there are loads in gravesend but saying that i was there today and must have seen six window cleaners in the high street at the same time.

In our small town of Chepstow there must be at least five window cleaners cleaning the shops there, with the monopoly of them being done by our Ian_Giles and another window cleaner.

There's quite a lot of competition there that keeps the prices down and a little bit of 'strong competition' (read between the lines) too.

I'd avoid town centre shops if I were you.

Sounds like they get return visits from here (unless you're a bit ancient and do a back call)  :)

Looking at your past postings you seem to know an awful lot of terms that normally only one of us would know(Have to be careful what I say as it seems if you mention certain words, topics get locked) You must have a link somewhere.
