Title: Transfer pumps

Just wondering if any of you guys that use backpacks use tranfer pumps to pump water from 25 ltr barrels to backpacks if so what are you using cheers kev

I just drilled a second hole near the bottom corner of my tank by the side loading door. Fitted a 1" flanged outlet and short length of 1" hose with a tap on end of it. Can gravity feed my backpack in about 30 seconds.

Sorry just realised you meant from barrels 😣.
I'm sure I've read before of people using 'whale' pumps ?

I use to just pour the drums in. Not sure a pump would be any quicker.

I have a collapsed vertebra n need a major opp so im trying to avoid the lifting of the barrels its a bit of a struggle 😔

Then why push a trolley around? Bung a tank on your motor.

Not pushing a trolly round i use backpack in back of car and got it all set up so i dont have to lift it in or out all barrels a filled from tank in shed via transfer pump in big tank

with it being a car you cant have many barrels in because of the weight, could you not say get a 100lt tank in the back and just fill that up? it would take up roughly the same area as a load of barrels.

Can you not simply run a pump from your boot and simply drop the suction hose into each barrel?

I want a device to transfer that water into backpack so im not lifting bottles

Try using the type of siphon pump that can buy from pet stores etc put end of pipe into 25ltr barrel the other end into the back pack just squeeze the rubber primer bulb and your good to go. No battery required and cheep to buy. ;D

Just been to local caravan dealers bought a whale pump that you drop in barrels attach to battery boom job done cheers for all relies lads 🙂👍
