Anyone had pointing come out around window seals
Whilst cleaning
I like to think I’m careful
I’m wfp
And when cleaning window sills I don’t slide the brush along the sills too heavy handed.
Had a customer last week mention
That pointing had come out around window sill on upstairs window
I just didn’t comment
I think she was fishing.
Noticed rear French doors pointing is breaking in one corner 🙆🏻♂️
Do you think we are to blame as wfp?
I do try not to smash brush about
And always use soft brush to protect lead windows also
They peel off sometimes 🙆🏻♂️😁
Too much sand and not enough cement in pointing 🤔
Thanks lee

Yes it happens nothing to do with us bad window fitters

Very common in my experience. Nothing to do with wfp.

Pointing is often very weak around these points especially after replacement windows as you can’t get the mortar to bond well enough.
Also if the brush stock is regularly tapping this mortar as you’re cleaning the sill (which it will) it will weaken it further.
Add to that water or rain getting in during cold weather, it will freeze, expand & blow the joint out.
It’s just one of those things.
