Title: Be honest, who’s sacked today off?
Post by: deeege on February 20, 2020, 08:57:37 am
I’m all for getting the days work finished no matter the weather but today I’ve sacked it off completely. It’s absolutely bouncing down sideways and forecast to stay until early evening. This month has been a slog so far.

Today is one of them rare occasions when all my commercial work and paperwork is upto date so nothing much productive I could be doing.

Anybody else completely written today off too?

Nope. But I am writing off the morning and if the forecast is correct I will get two or three hours in the afternoon. If I can clear over £100 I think it's worth going out. If not I will roll it over.

The first week in February was awesome. Dry all week and being as most of my stuff is 8 weekly I even brought some Monday stuff forward to 7 weeks and 4 days and did it on the dry Friday as the forecast was awful for storm whatsername.

The last two weeks - not so good!  ;D

Me!
It's half term and my Missus is working so I'm not too bothered that it's raining. Sorry (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1582193603_grin[1].gif)
But I still have to get that washing dry (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1582193673_sad[1].gif).

Normal day for us today. So pleased were not residential only, having enough suitable commercial work means weather rarely effects our ability to finish a full days work

I always put jobs back that can be done on days like today I see it as a waste of a day doing certain commercial jobs on a sunny day.

I did a couple of commercial jobs ( only smallish jobs really) , then one pre-booked residential.
It started bouncing down so sacked it off. I’ve been soaked every day this week  ;D

i nearly did  danny!.........however i had a first clean booked in this morning...this guy has been waiting 2 months for me to slot him into todays work so i just cracked on...it was rough out there for the first 2 hours then it calmed down and the sun came out this afternoon for a bit......10am-230pm.......got a few brews and all customers excepted the new price rise from next clean...finished off with a couple of commercial jobs this afternoon....

good old fashioned grit and determination....i feel happy and content now as im off until tuesday....all my work is up to date.....

its lucky for me that all this bad weather coincided with a light work week.

Fair play for cracking on through that weather today Daz. I’m not one for letting the weather stop me usually but that was too much for me today.

I have a full week of first cleans booked in for our new campaign.  Turned up and every single customer was delighted to see me regardless of the weather because their windows definitely needed cleaning.

Cracked on, waterproofs at the ready, got wet for a few hours then sun came out.

Was rough, but we got all our work done as planned.  Some of you lot need tougher skin  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

P.S - I asked customers first if they were okay with us cleaning in bad weather as they were new customers.  All of them didn't give  a flying floosenhargen just glad we turned up when we said we were going to be there.

Now you just need to sit back and wait for the cancellations now they’ve had their one-offs. 😂

I will hold you to that i promise.  Our retention rates from new customers picked up in winter and via social media is higher than work picked up by website/canvassing/leaflets.

I kid you not.  Most of the new customers signed up to GoCardless before we even turned up to do the job aswell.
