Ok guys, picking up my new Vivaro next week and am looking to go for a Brodex 500 system, has anybody got their systems and what do you think of them.
-
Brodex lol!
They’ve gone bust about 10 times and started up again. Don’t expect any warranty to be worth anything.
Personally I think they’re a shady lot and I’d avoid like the plague.
I went with Pure2o for both my vans (a 400 litre first, now a 700 litre). Top notch systems, highly recommend.
-
Avoid brodex!
Best value for money factory fitted system out there is waterworks in my opinion.
https://waterworkswindowcleaning.co.uk/product/500l-1-man-delivery-system-with-powerup-hd-electric-reel/
Grippatank is the best in my opinion also, but as with anything, they cost more.

I've got a Brodex it's 10 yrs old and I haven't had the slightest problem with it.
Very robust plastic baffled tank all brass Rectus 26 fittings Shurflo pump with tailor made hoses and connectors and auto shut off filling it's good kit.
On the downside their customer service / delivery is not the best to say the least.
I added a spare DI vessel and they are fitted with elbow Rectus fittings I couldn't find anywhere else, they took about a month to arrive!
-
I also had a 500L Brodex system in my old van, and had no problems with it, they are as Granny said a well built
solid system, but Brodex's afters sales customer care hasn't had a good reputation for years.
-
I wouldn’t use them , as said above , quality was good years ago but it seems all other companies have moved forward yet they have gone backwards IMHO
-
Also things must be dire to have to txt window cleaners and offer them your latest alloy poles as they did with me at Christmas
-
Go to cleaning warehouse in Wolverhampton and speak to Joe for a system, good kit at a good price :)

i know one guy who uses a 500L brodex system...to be fair it seems like a decent set up.......if i was having a new system fitted though id have a grippatank system installed as i think their baffled tanks are the best on the market....but its your money...do what you feel is best for you..... :)

if you want some thing easy to maintain i would strongly recomend purefreedom Why very basic and simple to maintain' no bells and whistles I've had a couple of set ups can't fault them so if any thing should go wrong 9 times out of ten you can fix it on site👍
-
Yes,very true,I have one at the moment but just thought of trying another company.

My DIY system (650 ltr) was super cheap, it earns me money every week.
If anything goes wonky, i installed it, so 99% of the time i know what it is and how to fix it
Each to their own but Daz's super charged, super expensive system that gives him days out in Grimsby or wherever every so often is not for me.
I dont want to have to earn an extra 12 grand or whatever a Grippa Heated/elecric reeled super complicated system costs >:( >:( >:(

Yeah not bad for the tank/reel, its the 4.5k on a heater that's a waste of hard earned

i like cleaning with hot water...i got fed up of messing about with gas heaters so i went down the diesel heater route...i dont regret it one bit....i dont care about the money it cost!it was bought and paid for years ago now!
i also got sick of gas heaters cracking and breaking because of forgetting to put an oil filled radiator in the back on freezing nights and forgetting to unscrew the drain screw.....
its far more reliable, safer and better than a gas heater......
personally for me id never have a DIY system again....been there and done that(ive had 2 DIY systems in the past)

Waste?
Each to their own.
It’s funny how opinionated some people can be. Almost as though their trying to convince themselves. ;)
-
What always makes me laugh is I DIY it so i can fix it myself, they make out like a professionally installed system you need a degree to fix it ;D. They're basically the same the only difference really is a proper baffled tank and properly bolted to the floor for a fitted system.
There really is no right or wrong, DIY if done properly can be just as good. A fitted system takes away the hassle of doing it yourself and generally looks more tidy, especially when it's all in a cabinet or similar.
-
I've installed over 20 of my own vans the past 15 years don't understand why you need to by overpriced company products totally a waist of money no point what so ever

it just depends.......if you want a decent hot water system with frost stat id say it was better to have a pro install IMO......
-

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer hot, just dont want any faffing with heaters or to pay thousands for a reliable one.
Ive got other priorities.

Iv tried hot and it made absolutely no difference to my working day in either speed or quality but if it had I would have bought a heater or done a bit of faffing to get one cheaper, I cant understand why you would say something is a waste of money if you think it has value.

It's not a waste of say £50
It is a waste of £4500.00
-
I bought all the parts for my system and fitted it myself to the last 4 vans..
Tank was about 150; pump was 80; reel 40 , battery 80 and hose I can’t remember how much, thinknthe flow controller was 80.
-
It's absolutely one of the best things I've done getting a new van and a decent diesel hot system.i dont see it as a waste at all....its an asset to my business every day......
....and I'll do it all over again in 2034(the year before they stop selling brand new diesel vans)unless something better comes onto the market.......
-
I suppose you keep Grippa in business 👍👍
