Hi all just setting my phantom 25 pole to a tubless system but I’ve found my male rectus is to far up the pole to connect to the tubless female connector any suggestions thanks andy

That's strange. It seems to be the other way around with my gardiner pole in that the first section needs to be extended a bit to allow the connector to sit proud of the base cap. If you are dead set on it being a tubeless pole I can't see any other way than to hacksaw a bit off the base.

Or you just have a longer hose in first section so it visibly sticks out the base of collapsed pole and just use a jg style push fit joiner.

I’ve had this loads of times, not sure how these poles are cut to size as they’re all hit n miss but generally I’ve found with gardiner poles is to look up the base and just see which section is longer and use a dremel or fine hacksaw and cut the section down, I’ve had it sometimes where I’ve had to cut not just the bottom section but the next one up too so it sticks out just about right to get your female rectus on.
It can be nervous cutting a brand new pole if you haven’t done it before but wrap the piece your cutting in masking tape then cut and you’ll be reet!!

All poles are made differently Gardiners clx, slx will work fine tubless but the ultimate doesn’t work well as the top section is a lot shorter than some other sections I had to put a hose tail out of the end of the pole to get it to work , I certainly wouldn’t want to be cutting down brand new poles

When you fit the kit, you just cut your pole hose at the end of your collapsed pole, sorted!
Obviously different poles will have different collapsed sizes but once all your poles are done, there isnt a problem. Stop being tight on pole hose ;D ;D

That’s not the way you fit a tubless kit from exceed , it’s fitted to the top section only , what you are suggesting sticking out of the pole sort of works but catches on other sections when extending the pole I tried it and didn’t get on with it.

Hi the problem with that is as previous post it catches on the sections and pops the connector off

Do you use a uni valve? If not simply use a straight push fit fitting, as I do.
I also have a univalve in one pole with the same fitting but I dont use that pole all day, every day to be able to suggest its 100% ok for everyday use.

This is really your only option other than cutting the pole Andy if a tubeless setup is important to you. I wouldn't want to work without tubeless or univalve now. I'd cut it but that's just me. Can understand why many wouldn't and of course it voids the warranty too !

The kit has an ejector sleeve which attaches to your Rectus fitting on the hose reel pipe. Are you saying that even with the ejector sleeve fitted and connected it's still too far up the pole?
When it's fitted the bottom of the ejector sleeve just protrude only about 15mm, just enough for you to pull back the sleeve which disconnect the Rectus fitting.
I know in the past Steve at Exceed has been able to post out small pole extension pieces which slide up pole number one.

Might be an idea to give the supplier of the pole a call and ask him to measure a few section one pole lengths. You never know you might just have a short one! :-)

As I said above pal, I’ve had 4-5 slx poles and 2 xtremes now and they’ve all been cut at different lengths so I’ve had to cut certain sections down to make the Male rectus reachable!
mad that as you’d think they’d all be a standard length cut in china or wherever gardiner get they’re pole sections from?
