When writing dates on invoices, quotes or payment slips you will need to write the full year out. 01/01/2020. Not 01/01/20
The 20 could be doctored to show another year by adding another two digits at the end.

Seen this doing the rounds, it makes sense, but to be honest, I can’t Imagine any of my commercial customers messing me about and changing the date on my invoices.
I send them as a PDF and they can still be edited anyway, if someone knows what they are doing...

Its my opinion that the longer the internet has been in existence the more useless bollox seems to propogate and flourish.
Why is this warning any more valid than if the new year were 2013, 2014 or 2025? Any document can be edited.

That’s thing, even a pdf can be edited.
It’s irrelevant for us window cleaners.
It’s more for legal stuff, as someone could add on any numbers they wish to the ‘20’ to create say ‘2017’. This is only really going to be an issue with hand written stuff though.
Basically it’s a non issue...

Propagate, Matt. Never mind the bollox........but I agree with your sentiments.

Because if you wrote 01/01/13 or 01/01/14 or 01/01/25 it cannot be changed as 01/01/20 can.
Because 01/01/20 can more easily be changed to anything between 2000 and 2099 by adding just two digits.

But you can change the others youve listed equally as easily.
To think you cant is ridiculous.
Upload a PDF document with those credentials and I’ll change it just as easily as any other and re-upload it.

Not if it's a handwritten (as the OP said) or printed paper copy being used in records.
