Title: NON CC........wheel bearing.

I put the wifes car in for an MOT 3 months ago & it failed on the wheel bearing.  Got that fixed at a local garage.  9 days ago wife told me that she could hear a whinning noise on the car.  I checked the other wheel bearings & they were OK.  Checked the one that the garage had done & it sounded bad.  Took it back to the garage they told me that they will sort it out but wanted to charge me.  By this time i was  >:(  I told him that he was not gonna charge me for his faulty work, seeing that i was ready to explode he agreed.  Today myself & the wife went to Coventry.   I drove there and got the wife to drive back.  As the wife has not long passed her test she was abit nervouse especially as it was raining.  She was doing about 55mph when suddenly the back of the car started to sway really bad and heard a noise. The wife paniced so i told her to brake gently & move over to the hard shoulder.  She stopped the car i got out and guess what.  The wheel that had the bearing done TWICE already was smoking and grease every where.  Phoned AA the came out & took us back to the garage that did the bearing.   >:( >:( >:(  you can probably imagine what i said when i went into the office.  The wife had to calm me down as i was ready to hit this tw*t.  He told me he would get back onto his supplier & get it sorted by 4.30 this afternoon.

To be honest i think that they have never changed this wheel bearing,  i think they have just greased it up and tightend it.  It was lucky that the wife was driving, because as i said,  she was only doing about 55mph, if i was driving we would have been doing at least 75-80 mph.  If this was the case i am sure that there would have been a nasty accident, possibly fatal.
