Title: Gutter poles

Anyone else have trouble with gutter poles getting stuck on if so what’s a good tip to get them apart

The official advice is to put a metal bar down and tap it with something, or use 2 people twisting in both directions.
None worked for me , I had 4 guys trying to pull apart but no good. I ended up cutting the poles and ordered a couple more  :'(

Make sure they agree clean before they go together. 2 people twisting and pulling in the opposite direction while wearing gloves is the only way found to get them undone.

Only been booking gutter jobs in when there are 2 of us incase they jam.  Just fitting gardiner clamps in the hope to avoid this altogether.

Years ago when modular  wfp's and modified fishing rods were popular for diyers.  A good tip I read ( on here I think ) was to apply a few wraps of electrical tape around each male joining section to act as a stop to avoid sections being pushed together too tightly.

We used to use duck tape.  :)
