Title: Best leisure battery's and charger?
Post by: Stoots on December 14, 2019, 11:10:35 am
I seem to be replacing 115ah leisure battery's about once a year.

I've always got them from halfords or ebay but admit I've always bought cheapish ones, about £100 usually.

Also I use a halfords charger, I've had two of them, I just wondered if you can actually get chargers that will look after the battery better and make it last longer.

I bench charge every night

I have a plug into the van mains charger and it says on the website you have to careful the way you charge them so I’d have to check that first you are not supposed to over charge them.

A friend of mine is a marine electrician and has fitted some sophisticated charging system that is set to the specific batteries I have it can be adjusted according to type , amp hour, and number of batteries it will monitor each battery and alter the charge rate as needed , the batteries are now 5 years old and been charged most nights of the week since new , mark tested the batteries only a couple of weeks ago and said they are as good as new , evan after the amount of use they have had
