Title: Unit Charges.
Post by: NWH on December 08, 2019, 05:52:08 pm
I may be looking for a lockup or unit just wondering what’s a sensible charge for somewhere that provides electric and water on a monthly basis.

£350 plus vat a month here in Scotland.

That gives space for 3 vehicles, power provided (but on a meter) and water (no water meters in Scotland).

I’m looking for a farm unit or similar really as my work is rural,I travel from 1 rural area to another similar place so it will be a bit out the way.
My work covers quiet a large area so I’m able to pick up water on the way into work or on the way home which allows me to look slightly further a field, all I want really is a space that is about 18x18 but off the beaten track.

i dont see the point of having a lock up and the extra expense if you work on your own,so what do you do now?fill up/purify water at home and charge batteries every evening?

£200 per month, + water and power. Power is on a meter, and water bill is split 10 ways, as not individually metered.

Its on an old farm, and we know the owner. There's about 8 or 9 other units as well, and all pay the similar.

Size, is 6m x 4m ish, with 2 van sized doors. We don't bring vehicles in very often.

Maybe the Mrs has kicked him out (I hope not).

I just want to keep my options open with the water, perfectly adequate at the moment and I could have it at home if I wanted I have 2 internal taps inside my garage.

I have a shipping container in a compound with electric and water in SE London that costs just £100 a month. Dont see the point having office etc just for window cleaning  when all can be done at home on laptop.
Also have a garage back of house where i store bits too.
Wow some guys pay a small fortune for units.

That was the sort of thing I was thinking of 1 of those containers somewhere,I would need an inside tap though can’t see how that would work with a container.
