so here is my temperature readings for today.....
coiled hose(heater running for 30 mins)....61c
roughly 20m hose off the reel.....55c
100m off the reel....38c
ambient air temp....5c
so it works out that im getting around a 4c-5c drop in temperature per 20m hose off my reel so that means if you guys(jonny and NWH) are still getting 55c-60c at brush head with 100m off their reels then your coiled hose readings must be in the region of 80c-85c.....have any of you guys ever checked your coiled hose readings?

in the warm summer months my coiled up hose temp can be as high as 65c with virtually no heat loss with 100m off the reel so still getting 60c at brush head which is hot enough for me.....

I checked my water this morning Daz it was hotter than yours lol

My water this morning was 70 degrees at brush head this morning; no heater, no immersion, I just believed and it happened!!

I don’t care what you’re temperature gauge reads Daz you say you can clean you’re work with it on max,I couldn’t clean PVC in this weather with it on max.
I cleaned the van yesterday on max it looked like it was on fire with the steam from the brush and where I’d been over it lol.

There is one thing you are missing.
Water flow would also dictate how much heat you lose over the length.
If you have a higher flow rate there is more water, therefore less heat loss.

I have a high flow rate of water 96-97 out of 100, you’d think it would be cooler because when you run it back to tank at 25 heat increases.

I passed water this morning but didn't have a thermometer to hand ... ill try again tomorrow

3 kw Immersion element, 500 litre insulated tank, 55 degrees in tank, 50 degrees at brush head via back pack.

I use an lpg heater and its set to 50° on the lcd display and generally reeling enough off to do the average sized 2-3 bed home with a decent flow it comes out at around 30° so I always average around 15-20° temp loss, I’m more than happy with that as I’ve worked higher in the 45-50° and cracked glass in the past, even on my current temps I can hear frames and glass creaking with expansion on cold days🙈😂
In the summer I would say its slightly less loss as the ground is warmer on the hose and the suns out beaming!

i have mine on 40-45 and its plenty......

yep...glass creaking is not a nice sound is it? :o........ive noticed its often velux windows and single pane wooden windows that do it mostly.....

Single pane glass is bloody scary to clean when its freezing weather and your squirting the steamy water onto it😂🙈

i have mine on 40-45 and its plenty......
I’m much the same as Nigel, I haven’t checked by thermometer, but I just know I cant put my hand under it in winter if I run the heater on full. That must be 60 plus.
Also, my flow rate is high. I use 85 on the controller. About 3 litres per minute on the glass.

Single pane glass is a no no if I have a house first thing with single pane glass the heater would be off,I had it on minimum last week and cleaned a similar house and it sounded like someone was dropping shingle over the glass from the heat lol.
Any glass where there is no flex ie nailed tight into a window frame or any pane of glass that has the smallest of cracks on it will turn into a crack from corner to corner or end to end.
