Title: how clean is your house?
Post by: Cinders on July 02, 2006, 03:29:13 pm
Just thought i would start a new topic for light sunday conversation.....

Before I started my cleaning business a friend advised me of the penny rule.  How people leave pennies under ornaments etc to check you have cleaned properley...I have found a few pennies a long the way.  On my first clean I found it very strange that a client had 4 pennies hidden under a tall stand light.  I removed them and piled them up to show I had cleaned under this but turns out they were there to stop the stand marking the wooden floor! ha ha   ;D

Another client I have has emery boards (nail files) under a tall lamp stand but now I dont know if they are there as a test or not!! How can you tell??

Has anyone come across less conventional tests of cleaning?!

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!  :)

Hi

If i ever come across cash of any kind I put it on the shelf and tell the client I found some money under the sofa etc.

FUNNY HOW WE ARE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR LITTLE TESTS?

I thought it was just me!  I have a house to clean which has two young boys.  I am always finding toy cars, socks etc in strange places and wonder if it is a test!  I think it is probably just the boys playing but I always make a point of leaving everything in an obvious place!

we had a client that used to leave 1 crisp under a chair, toenail clippings behind doors, leave a spot of ribena on a kitchen cupboard door, this happended week in and out, it got to be a game in the end to see what she had left, the house was spotless, she did all the cleaning before we got there, so pleased when she cancelled. I remember I put Vaseline outside my bedroom window to see if the window cleaner had really been!

tut tut I should be ashamed of myself!
