I only signed up self employed few months ago so my first tax return/payment wouldn’t be in July would it, it would be April next year?

Any Work/Business started after April 2019, then the tax for that year is April 2019-April 2020, and for the first year it is not due until January 2021. It is due in July 2020 if you are an existing business, well half is due on account in any case.

January and July is only for personal tax. Corporation tax is of course once a year, to be paid exactly 9 months after the end of your tax year.

Had my july bill a while ago Dave..
It will get paid a couple of hours before midnight tomorrow, I like to make them wait :D
