Apparently there were a few Chinese copies coming onto the market sold by a couple of wfp distributors.

If you want a genuine Shurflo then speak to Daqua. Doug has helped a few identify if the pumps the have are the genuine article or not.

In 10 years of window cleaning I’ve NEVER had a shureflo pump fail.

My last one, I sold with my van, it lasted 8 years and was still pumping. my current pumps are 2 years old and going strong.

If it’s a genuine Shureflo then I don’t see how you can get any better.

The only problem I've had with shurflo pumps is with pressure switches
I think that's cos i dont use a controller
A new switch only costs £4 or so though

I wasn't aware there was a problem.
But saying that I bought one from Daqua around 2 years ago and it's the genuine article.

I’ve always used Ionics pumps, which I think are manufactured by Aquatec.

My last van had 2 pumps (so 2 operators), not a single problem ever in 4 years.

Current van also has 2 pumps, and not a single problem in a year and a half.

Good question.
Our last pump came from Daqua. That one is  7 years old. The other 2 came from Williamson pumps along with the Varistreams back in 2007 and still working well.

If memory serves me PureFreedom as a supplier was the topic of a previous post regarding the supply of Chinese pumps.

My shurflo is 8 years old and still going strong, no idea how long I can expect out of it, but it amazes me how long it’s lasting!

If you buy the pumps from Gardiners it’s the same pump as ionics just different label stuck on it and it’s half the price or just about , I have had both last many years very good pumps

I have shurflo pumps going back 10 years and they were second hand then !!!

I have 4 from pure freedom between 4 and 2 years old - they look and are labelled exactly as the other pumps all going strong - only had that one pump where the Brush has clogged up  easy fix and still working

Thanks for that. Although  my original shurflo that must be getting on to 10 years is still going strong, except for an unknown hiccup last week where it appeared to get power but not turn, but once removing it to check it properly sprang back in to life.
Think I'm going to put the new pentair spare on instead just incase it doesn't last  whilst under warranty.  ;)
