You definitely also need waterproof gear that is breathable in my opinion otherwise you sweat like a pig.
I don't tend to work in heavy rain but if I know I might get caught out in showers during the day I chuck my waterproof fishing jacket in the van.
One of these: https://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/trakker-summit-xp-jacket?gclid=Cj0KCQjwov3nBRDFARIsANgsdoGfQe8VDWhEsdlNIWR0B2sdkCYl95uEDWXE5EK3fK_U93N09B5jQi0aArp0EALw_wcB

Gortex, just a “shell “ jacket or you get too hot. Any decent make but has to be Gortex. Expensive but worth it.

Personally I'm allergic to rain. ;D
I will work with the odd drop around but nothing more.
Firstly. its not very easy to wash windows in the rain when you have to wear glasses.
Secondly, I once did a first clean and as I started the heavens opened up and I got soaked. My wet clothes made the seat of my van wet which took days to dry out and wasn't very pleasant.
BTW the customer was none the wiser to it raining as she thought it was because I had wet the windows. ;D
She was most surprised when she opened the front door to pay me. I went back the next day and checked the windows; they were perfect.
I cleaned that customer's windows for the next 7 years until she passed away a few years ago.

Just pop into any golf course shop and get your water proofs. Good quality and you can play golf in the rain then as well :)

Could I also suggest getting seat covers which are water proof as well. A number of people have mentioned having wet seats, which will help prevent this...... You know,,,,, keeping things simple n all ;D
I still have my scrums from the trad days, which come in handy just to give the seats a dry down. A simple fix, but a fix all the same

Umbrella hat, wellies, and a spiderman outfit. Customers love it!

this is another advantage of having a heated driver seat.....it helps dry me out on a wet day as well as warming me up.....

My house is lovely and waterproof.
Wouldn't want to be out working in the rain messing up my hair.
