Leflet drop came through the door..
Surrey, Berkshire..
Have prices on for 2,3,4,5 bed houses.
5 bed house 6 weekly £25:00...
Absolutely bonkers.
I would be out of business for those prices..
Should be £40:00- £50:00
Also claim hot water increases effectivness by over 50%..
Effectivness of what?
I recon this flyer is miss leading...
Any views?

Don't let it get to you. Just chuck it in the bin and focus on your own business.
Trade with integrity and you don't need to worry about the ones who don't.

That’s a fair price
£40 -£50 is well over priced’

What area are you in Swanson..

What area are you in Swanson..
why does that matter -pricing in our game is subjective - if you have a Hugh mortgage - new motor - big van and VAT reg you may have to charge more than say - some one who rents a council flat, has an old banger, no kids etc..
some have high overheads others don't - simple as that
as for hot water - well no one can agree on here, again its opinion so not misleading if the person with the flyer takes 30minutes to clean a house with cold and only 15 minutes with hot then its a fair claim
basically I wouldn't get your knickers in a twist over it

Exactly right.
It reminds me of the property market. How does an estate agent value a house? It's basicially on what buyers are prepared to pay in that area according to past sales history and buyer appeal, and has nothing to do with the value of each brick, each roof truss and each roofing tile. The three most important aspects to consider when buying a property is area, area and area.
Like every one else even prices change in the towns we work in depending on the estate. If the house is on an old council estate where a good portion of the residents are still council tenants, then prices per clean will be a little lower than on a new up market estate.
But we also find that the old council estates at a lower price come with other benefits. Usually we get paid on the day and neighbours will mostly pay on behalf of those who aren't in because they have a close knit community.
We found that if a neighbour didn't pay for someone else not in there was a good reason. We found with time that these customers never had money and became payment messers so were dropped.

All pricing threads a pointless
because as a business you should now what prices are like in YOUR area. No one elses area has anything to do with yours.
Like spruce points out the housing market is different in every area and so is the window cleaning market.
You can easily find your own pricing by simply giving out 100s of quotes and adjusting your pricing to the amount of conversions you require.
Pricing really isnt rocket science and you dont need anyone else to tell you what you should or shouldnt be charging.

His price is up to him; he could put £4 if he wants.
As for hot water, I'd rather do my washing-up in hot water than cold water! I guess it's more effective.
But don't let it bother you.
You could worry about everything, if you put your mind to it.

A cleaner whose prices are higher than what his customer perceives the job is worth will probably only retain his services until a cheaper cleaner comes along.
