Title: Expanding - taking on one off jobs
Post by: Caleb Morley on May 23, 2019, 05:34:45 pm
Trying to get another employee on.

I'm considering doing one off cleans to make sure there's enough work.

Thoughts?

yep go for it

Gutter clearing - S/F/G cleaning -Conservatories - Cladding - Pressure washing  all our one off work pays double on the hourly window clean rate ( sometimes a lot more )

Yep it's lucrative.  Charge tripple for one off or end of tenancy cleans. They usually don't even flicker an eye lid at the price.

Seeing as they take a lot more time,  and the advertising cost is the same as regular customers it's a fair to charge that.

That's how it works in the USA.  Most are one off annual or 6 month cleans and they charge hundreds.

Charge what you think but if you need the extra work for an employee go for it.

why not?take every job you can.......i try and avoid them as much as possible even if it makes me more money than my normal window work simply because they are much harder work......im getting lazy in my middle years..... :)

Caleb,

We never used to do one off cleans.

But now we do if we are asked.

We just make it worth while.

For example in the last 3 weeks we’ve cleaned the windows as a one off on a small 2 bed terraced house for £65.  And another one off 3 bed semi with small conservatory (sides only) for £75.

I just added them onto one of my worksheeets (not my employees   ;) ) to make it even more worth it.

The 2 bed terraced was for an end of tenancy clean...  The people who were moving out have since asked us to quote for regular window cleaning at their new house which they’ve just bought - so hopefully they will turn into  regular customers now.

Generally speaking most people dont want to pay the prices i want to make one offs like fsg, connys etc worthwhile.

i would do them in the meantime until you build up work, but you cant beat regular, reliable, well priced windows imo
