I think this is a top compliment.
Yesturday evening I had a phone call out of the blue.
It was a customer of mine who said he'd had dinner with a friend and during their conversation they discussed 'business'.
Now I don't have a clue what he does, but I know he runs his own business and that his wife is a leading figure in the UK as a top fertility specialist; a doctor.
They have two holiday homes, one in Spain and the other in Cornwall. They're extremely affluent, so I don't think they have to flog Kleeneze to make ends meet.
Anyway, he went on to say that the snapshot he's had of how I run my business has impressed him* and that his friend is looking for some highly-motivated people and my customer suggested me. He also said lots of other nice things about me, which modesty prevents me from typing here; aw shucks.
Anyway, I thanked him, said I was flattered, refused saying that I just wanted to keep my life simple and I was happy with my business; but I asked him what it entails.
He avoided the question telling me that it was just some ideas his friend was formulating.
*I also clean his mother's house and she's married to an ex-soldier a Military Medal holder whose dying of throat cancer; so I always pull the stops out for her and go that extra-mile; because of her husband.
But it was a nice compliment though!

you can add it yo your "chit"
you windows have been cleaned today
do you wanna buy a duster or tea towel
oh and i notice whilst peering through your window, your ironing board needs a new cover
you'll be a millionaire this time next year rodney, Ummm i mean tosh
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Or Bettaware! I could leave 'em out when I'm on my rounds!
No doubt it would mean me selling something; since he doesn't have my CV, he hasn't really a clue about me and I have no desire to 'flog stuff'. I prefer being friendly without having a hidden commision agenda.
I'll give his Mum a good grilling the next time I clean her windows to see if I can find out what his 'diversification' proposal was about though.
Anyway, this guy is obviously university educated; he thinks I come from 'New-car-sle' (there's no 'r's in Newcastle) has a good income and the material benifits that come with it, and doesn't view his lowly window cleaner as another one of 'the staff'.
That's good. I must be doing something right.
I'm flattered I suppose!

Perhaps he wants you to sell holiday homes in Spain, manage the new holiday home complex they are building in Spain, liaise with the condominiums being built in Cornwall and Spain . . WOW and you said no . . . . oh dear ;D ;D ;D
Whatever you do dont turn it down flat, at least have a chat and find out more because it may be turning point in your life :)
best of luck

Poles apart is correct.
They will never tell you anything until they have there foot inside your door.

Sounds like MLM to me (multi level marketing)

I have had a couple of offers like that over the years. It usually involves you doing all the work and them making all the money. Its nice to be thought of.

Avon calling ;D ;D

Exactly what my reply would have been.
My gut instinct would be to be VERY careful. If it was a Kosher offer, why the secrecy? Hear what they have to say, but run like hell if they try to tie you into something without hearing FULLY what it is. But DO hear what they have to say. Go with your gut feeling then. Do not make any hasty decisions...sleep on it all, even if it looks like too good an offer to leave and think on.
I'm about to go into another business with a business partner. I'm very careful, even though I know him well. Money is evil and can bring the worst out in people. I watch my back at all times and protect myself.

I was going to post just that but scrolled down to see if anyone else thought so too. Just be aware that the guy has told yoiu nothing of the business as yet - a typical Amway carrot to get you dribbling. Getting you to a meeting and giving you the minimal info beforehand are the first goals. I may be wrong of course.
-
I'd be surprised if it was Amway, but I'll find out and report back after I re-clean the 'Mother's' house.
It's without a doubt flogging something though; and I'm not interested in that; apart from my window cleaning services.

nobody gives you nothing for nothing in this world ,m If it was that good they would keep it all to themselves , I fell victim or nearly to a proposal last year , " youre doing a great job blah blah blah " it just turned out they were after saving money for what a professional firm would of charged.

Are you suffering from forum-tourette's syndrome?

Don't go looking for diamonds elsewhere - just polish the ones you've got already so that they are more valuable.
