My connections haven’t been the best lately and ready to order something that doesn’t keep disconnecting every 2 minutes!!
I’m using these - :
Ez snap 8mm barb female end
Ez snap 6 mm barb male end
Protecta ball x 2
They seem to last me a month before starting to disconnect,
Is anyone using anything a bit more hard wearing? Or are the slick connect the dogs b******s these days?
Thanks in advance

Telling you guys, hip holster and nothing drags on the floor. The hose simply follows wherever you go and the pole hose,,,,,,, well you can simply drag it behind you as all you need to do is carry your pole.
There's no need to carry your pole hose or main hose.

There's some dodgy copies about. The actual rectus ones seem okay to me. We get them from a local pneumatic supply shop.

Same here fed up with ez snap / rectus. My exceed slick connections have now arrived so will be trying these out and see how I get on. You could use a straight in line barb connector from hose reel to pole hose so they are permanently connected and then cut your pole hose a inch or two longer than your collapsed pole just so you can connect and disconnect and use a push fit connector to connect pole hose from pole to pole hose on hose reel so effectively a hose less pole so you can still disconnect pole from reel. You might just have to make to hole in the end cap a little bigger but it does work and slide up the pole ok and stays connected. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8mm-6mm-In-Line-Hose-Tube-Pipe-Reducer-Connector-Joiner-Air-Fuel-Water/360901523015?epid=1338107965&hash=item5407683647:g:rBkAAOSwbu1cXoqN

Not used the slick connectors personally, they seem rather expensive at £14 for a set and rather wary with them being plastic, plus heard some horror stories about coupling and uncoupling. Been using Gardiners Pro 26 at £7.50 per set and TBH you can't complain at the longevity for the price. I've not changed the fittings for at least 12 months.

Window cleaning warehouse got my order wrong 4 times can you believe so I have 2 female 6mm slick connects I don’t need and a size 5 I believe end cap for a phantom pole also not needed
-
Gave up on connectors years ago.
I used a 6mm to 6mm barbed brass connector and then the two o rings. Been using that for years now and i love it.
o rings last about 6 months before they go.

Gotta link? Are you hoses always connected then?
Cheers

Do you use the protecta balls too?

Yep always connected.
I use a 22ft extreme for all my work then when needed I add the 35ft extension extreme pack.
All John guest fittings so takes around a minute to add the extensions.
When I use my 47ft extreme and above I have a small piece of extension hose.

Like i say its been years since i swapped and much prefer it. Less snagging, no leaks, no popping off accidentally, cheaper, less wear and tear.

Rectus 26 all day long Shrek
Very good connectors, but very big bulky and heavy.

I've never had much problems with the Rectus 21 but i picked mine up rather than drag them. They connect and disconnect perfectly. I now use the slick connect, its brilliant for wear and you can just drag it anywhere doesn't seem to snag but disconnecting it is a bugger.
I've seen these via FB and Ebay and these look by far the best thing i've seen combining the easy connecting rectus and giving the slick connect wearability. (i havn't tried one though).

Slick connects have been faultless and will never go back to metal fittings
Bit of lube every couple of weeks keeps them working great
-
Just a little update, I binned the rectus fittings and bought a brass reducing pipe connector from eBay and joined the pole hose to hose reel permanently.

Joined with a couple of o clips , which looks like this - so I can just wind it all on the hose reel.

I had the problem of the pole hose getting quite twisty so had to fit an equal straight push in fitting

Cost around £4.50 and should last quite a while, a lot cheaper and more robust than the rectus fittings and doesn’t disconnect at all 👍
