My first section has now worn right where it clamps when its fully closed, I’m gonna big a new xtreme soon anyway as I’ve had this one just over a year and a bit but what can I do for now as its a pain when I’m cleaning down stairs windows!!
Thinking I either mask the worn groove off and put some laquer on to build it up or try to take the clamp off and cut the inch or so off and restock the clamp?

Wind a couple of wraps of electrical tape over the worn area, the next section will but up to it and stop the spinning. Saves cutting the pole.

Thanks pal I’ll give it a try😉
-
Can you just not fully close it , so you have a couple of inches left extended for the clamp to grip a less worn bit of the section?
-
That’s what I’m doing at the minute pal but when your a serial splash n dasher and extending and collapsing the pole as fast as you can I have to get it just right😂

I've noticed this already on mine and it's only 3 months old.
Not sure if I'd buy another, great pole but the wear rate really is excessive when you consider the price.
Ive started using my slx 18 as a day to day pole and use the extreme 25 only when it's needed.

when you snap a top xtreme section or wear them down too much(1 and 2) replace them with SLX sections, much stronger and only slightly heavier, sections 3,4,5 on the xtremes last much longer than the top 2.....

I saw a Gardiners video of how to repair a spinning section use 2 part araldite (or similar).
But I now can't find the video, which is odd!
Anyway, I did it and it worked perfectly.
Basically you build up the worn section using 2 part araldite and then sand it back.
Did my Xtreme last summer and it still works great.
